Well, I have finished the demo. If that is supposed to be the representative of the entire game... EWWWW! I suppose the demo was made with people clicking 'action mode' in mind, because dialogue was quite frankly horrible. Not filled with inconsistencies but overall pretty cool like ME2, it was just horribly written AND filled with inconsistencies.

Let's begin from the beginning: You get a long cut-scene at the start, that is interactive only in 2 places and what you say doesn't really influence anything. First thing that I have noticed here is how poorly it is written. I mean, all ME games had this B-movie vibe, but it worked thanks to good execution. ME3 has just ... Horrible dialogues from what I have seen, not to mention the 'cool' one-liners you encounter later on. When I finally got into the game, what I got was a mediocre action experience. And pretty much the end to any meaningful dialogue, right to the end of the demo.

Oh right, there WAS one other part with dialogue - completely cut out of context, you find yourself in a dropship with Wrex. Out of the sudden, Liara appears, saying something cool, and then the blue Turian person appears, saying something cool as well. And everyone smiles and laughs like old buddies, and... Ugh, that was cheesy and ... Ugh. Well, after that part, you're thrown into another action sequence, without any explanation whatsoever as well, and ... Just fight through to the end of demo.

What. The. Fuck. What the fuck was that? It just seems to me that the whole thing was designed to people who pick "Action mode." I didn't like a single bit of what the demo showed, and demos usually show good parts. I fear to think how BAD parts of this game look like.

Did you not read the part about how the Demo was the first 10 minutes of the game and a mission from about 10% of the way through? Oh you also get the default start where you've never played before not the version for save imports which apparently has changes to it... etc etc it's a demo go play the ME2 demo and compare it to ME2 you'll make the same complaints.

Yeah, 10% of the way trough, I get it, I also get that changes don't carry trough, that's not what I have complained about. I have complained about quality of dialogue, which was quite frankly horrible, and general impression the demo has left on me.

check the dialogue in the ME2 demo you will CRINGE it's a demo it's a demo with as few spoilers as they could manage I didn't expect great dialogue

I hope my old laptop that could run ME2 will run ME3 demo... Please lord!

Thank god. Me3 is the only game i'm waiting for ...

ME3 and Risen 2 are the only games I am going to REALLY miss playing this year while overseas.

All right, I did exactly that. ME2 demo isn't nearly as bad - it was basically just the game's opening.

I only had time yesterday to play the first few minutes of the demo so I can't comment on the dialogue. What I did notice is that Ashley looks uglier so I'm glad the Shepard I'll be importing will end up with Tali :P

Of course, an anti-materiel rifle (note the "e", not "a") is designed for use against armoured vehicles, so it wouldn't be too much of a stretch that they work relatively well against armoured "worms" as well.

Edit: hmm, you're right though, it is called "anti-material" - at least on the wiki.

Trying to avoid reading much about the game but noticed on the web (Joystiq maybe?) that pre-ordering ME3 on Origin gets you Battlefield 3 for free. Seems like a good way for me to get into that shooter from last year (haven't played a Battlefield game since 2142).
