and what about graphics - bioware games never had hi-end graphics engine (though ME2 looked very good at a time). What counts most for me, is the design, not the technology. And for me, ME2 was always nice at this part.

Animations (especially the eyes...) are a bit stiff, yep, but the cutscenes and dialogues are the best of it's kind. I've never seen in any game camera as good as in ME2.

Now that I played those two solo missions through.. Not bad but feels like Mass effect 2.5. (at least there wasn't some 6 years between the games)
It was good to see so many familiar faces though.
Also I thought that I saw that navigator in there and he is dead.
Played the demo liked the start straight into plot no messing around with lots of text just got into the attack. Graphics look much and such same as before but your right about the animations being a bit stiff.
By the way, I've read somewhere that Bioware cut off most of the dialogue options from the demo, to not spoil too much of a story.

So having only two not changing anything options doesn't matter, in full game there would be more.

For example, in demo's last scene, when shepard is approaching dying cerberus member, it's OBVIOUS that we will have an option to interrogate him, or just kill him at spot (renegade)

After trying the Demo for myself, I have a couple of things to point out beginning with the Nitpicks:
-The 'Options' menu is under 'Extras'? Really? Changing Settings is a luxury nowadays it seems.
-New Game-> Action Mode, RPG Mode, Story Mode... at this point I wonder if it's possible to streamline the experience even more? Nothing would suprise me anymore. Even with RPG mode you'd at least expect an inventory and equipping your squad like you could in ME 1, but no it's just 'ME2' mode basically. Did I miss something?
-The 'Do Everything Button', sure it was already featured in ME2 but now it does sprint, jump, roll, hop over, take cover, use and skip sentence! I was shocked when I was told that F was the melee button!

The stuff that matters:
I sure hope the introduction, dialogues, writing, exposition will be more substantial in the full version than the TL;DR that was the Demo. Frankly it was underwhelming, I actually laughed when the initial attack managed to kill everyone in that room except for Shepard and Anderson. Graphically speaking it wasn't very interesting with all the grey tones of the rooftops and overall sterile color palette, add to that the distractingly low quality of the textures, models, animations or distant sprites(those running sprites...). I don't care so much about 'graphics' in Games but more about 'visual fidelity' especially in a 'cinematic experience' that is Mass Effect. (take Deus Ex Human Revolution, the facial expressions, lipsyncing, overall animations weren't all that good. But the game makes up for those issues by offering a great depth in gameplay and story). Compare the environment art from Mass Effect 1 to the environments of Mass Effect 3, it's striking I think.

On to the combat: from what I've played it's as dull as ME2 combat. You spam the very limited amount of available powers every time you can, you shoot out of cover, back to cover, recharge shield, repeat... since everything is bound to one button you may also end up rolling around or hopping like an idiot if all you wanted to do was to just get out of cover.
I miss the rich amount of available powers and options from ME1 combat, the different specialisations added some strategy to fights and you could run&gun like a badass. Since ME2 it's rather run&DIE...
I hardly play Mass Effect Games for the combat though (although t'was fun in ME1) but for the story foremost. It's hard to get a clear picture on that just from this demo, so I hope at least that the writing and consistency is better than it was in ME2.

So far the Demo did an awful job at selling me the game.

Yes they've disabled most of the menu (theres weapon/armour upgrades etcetc if you look at some of the skills you get one of them mentions capacity for holding stuff too) disabled most of the dialogue options (action choices without renegade/paragon options??? righhhhht) Hell I highly doubt theres no way to save the kid at the start it's probably your first shot at getting the best ending...

Yay I'm not alone! To be fair thou, combat was fairly decent. Yeah I don't play ME games for combat, but there may just be people who do - and ME3 seems to do quite a good job of it.

The same thing is in most games now smart jumps etc are there so people don't get frustrated by accidental miss jumps (The batman games for example use similar rules AC doesn't (while still having a run/climb button) cause falling due to stupidity is part of that game)

Well then, if the full version of the game is better, Bioware horribly failed at understanding what demo should do (Sell you the game. If those choices were there, I would be more inclined to do that.)

Decided to try the demo again. The feeling there's something wrong with the eyes of the charachter's is getting to me. Was femshep's ass always this 'weird' shape? (havent played 1/2 yet)...

If this lived up to the words being used it would be awesome. Difficulty modes that do more than modify enemy health and damage are a great way to offer different experiences to different gamers. Take Thief for example, quick and dirty mode or true investment mode.

Unfortunately from what I have heard these terms in ME3 somehow just stand for easy, normal and hard.

God I hate this shit. Has nothing to do with consoles, they have a ton of buttons, it's all about assuming a ton more people would play your game if only it used less buttons. It directly impacts quality too, can't tell you how many times I did the wrong thing in ME2 cause so much is on the same damn button.

Arg.

femsheps old body was the male body morgphed so it was slimmed slighty with breasts added (there is a flag marked female in the saves that chooses which bodymorphs to use). They've now actually made a new proper body for her so she actually has a more... feminine outline...

Actually it's more
Story, Combat easymode, Conversation normal
Action, Variable combat, Conversation? whats that?
RPG, Variable combat, Conversation normal
Combat still goes all the way from easy to insanity and on insane you do need to command your team as the enemy will try to flank you.
Combat in action and RPG mode of the demo seems to adjust based on your first section (when I ran and gunned it I got harder and more troops on the krogan level than the time I went slow and missed a fair few shots...)

Yeah, this. I actually find it to be a fantastic idea, and more games should do similar stuff - choice is never a bad thing. First System Shock still rules thou - there was difficulty for story (either you got full story with all objectives, or none at all and you were free to roam the space station), difficulty for real-world opponents raging from killing everyone by one shot to really hardcore one, the same for cyberspace opponents, and also difficulty for interactive puzzles - the easiest one disabled them completely.

More games should have this kind of stuff...
The feedback I've seen here seem to conform with what I've see elsewhere, including on BSN.

Combat is better.

Everything else, roughly speaking, is worse.

What does that tell you about BioWare's priorities these days?

Since I have no plans to buy the game any more I checked out the leaked script. No surprises there. Not really.

BioWare have lost it.
