I'm installing STALKER SoC again for the first time in a few years, and I was wondering which mod I should install with it. I remember LURK as being very survival-focused whjat with the draconian weight limit and all, but I hear that STALKER Complete keeps the game truer to the original. As someone who loves the survival elements in STALKER (limited ammo, unpredictible enemy locations/randomization, having to scavange weapons, being forced outside your comfort zone, etc), which mod do you think would be a better choice?

Since the Complete mod makes the game a bit more easy I would say the Lurk mod.

Stalker complete is more about updating the visuals than anything else, kind of like a total visual overhaul with better effects etc. You may actually be able to install both the mods and have them running side by side.

Personally, I find both to be kinda poopsicles. LURK when I tried it, was increasing the view range for the enemies in an attempt at realism, but I found that it didn't take into account the size of the maps making it feel kinda unbalanced. Complete on the other hand does more than it says it does, making the game actually easier.
My personal recommendation would be AMK 1.4, with the AMK-EN Patch 2.0.94. Might also add AMK Arsenal, if you want new weapons.

Never mind. Installed LURK, saw the bloom (which I never noticed last time), and uninstalled it. I'll be using Complete, I think :P.

How about Oblivion Lost? It opens up the game, adds new monsters and options (repairing weapons / armor,) blowouts (you know, like in CoP and Clear Sky, they're just more unforgiving,) and ... well it generally adds a lot to the game, and all of it is immersive and fun.
