Looking for adventurers to help me with my hopeless quest!

Back in the late 90's/early 2000's (maybe) I remember my dad buying a futuristic style game, and I haven't been able to remember or find the game. I have searched through google with keywords, searched by images done EVERYTING I can think of to remember this game. I am wondering if anyone here has a clue.

These are the things I remember about the game:

1. The main premise is you need to get a job. There are several starting jobs, with the idea being you work your way up through higher jobs (I know it is definitely NOT Jones in the Fast Lane...I played many hours on that one!)

2. If you don't succeed enough, I vaguely remember your character jumping out of a window in failure.

3. I am pretty sure that it had some sort of voice command ability, but I don't think it was necessary to play the game.

4. The backdrop was essentially a single 2d city screen which scrolled sideways to view the various buildings you could go to (apartment, work etc).

I know it's not much to go on, but if anyone has even the slightest leads or clues to examine it would be much appreciated!
