Hello, first sorry if I am posting this in the wrong section. First time using the forums.

I am looking for a very old Chinese turn based rpg that I played as a kid ~20 years ago on pc.

I don't remember that much of this game so please just spit out suggestions. I will recognize the game when I see it. If I remember correctly, combat was done on tile based maps where characters would take turns to move and then attack. You could only have a certain number of characters at once so along your adventure you had to ditch some characters for the better ones. Characters could learn many skills which grew stronger as you used them. The world map for navigation featured many diverse locals from snowy lands to desert. The game featured a morale system. You could either become the hero and kill the bad guys or become the villain and kill the good guys for their loot. Depending on how good or evil you were, the final battle would either pit alone vs all the bad guys in the game or all the good guys. The good guys were much harder to beat.

Sorry for the extremely vague description but that is all I remember.

I'm not sure any of them match your description but the Romance of the Three Kingdoms games and anything else based on that work are probably a good place to start as the setting should at least be the right one.

Exactly the same one came to mind. The very first RPG I played. Found a couple of screenshot online.

I don't think so, but there is an English remake on steam. Look up 'Tale of Wuxia'

ToW's a remake of the sequel to Heroes of Jin Yong.
I read somewhere that there's plans to make a prequel to ToW.
As for whether it's HoJY or an entirely new game, I have no idea.

The devs webpage sell digital and physical copies that cannot use steam The seller specifically mention that it is not compatible to steam, you must go to steam to buy the steam version.

凤凰游戏商城销售的《侠客风云传》产品(包括数字版/标准版/豪华版),均不适用 于STEAM平台。
如果您想体验STEAM版,请前往STEAM平台进行购买并下载游戏。
Problem is short of asking the devs, we don't know if that version will feature the English version along with the Chinese version because it did not say English in the description.

Thank you for going to all that trouble, Gnostic. Chinese looks so intimidating...
But I guess that it is not cheap enough for me to risk it. (Even more with all the fine games around here).

I may take another look at it in the future, and look at some reviews.
