In a similar vein, Legend of Grimrock allows minotaur, lizardman and insectoid party members, and Legend of Grimrock 2 further allows ratling party members.

DreamedArtist: Worms are animals? Hmm I swore they was categorized into Insects only? well I learned something new today lol
Well, technically all insects are animals. XD
The Avernum RPG series (original Complete Saga, and remakes Avernum: Escape from the Pit, Avernum 2: Crystal Souls, and Avernum 3: Ruined World) allow cat-like nephilim and lizard-like slithzerikai party members.

[Correction, thanks to dtgreene - they're not yet playable in Avernum 1 and Escape from the Pit, but do exist in the gameworld.]

Avernum 1 and Avernum: Escape From the Pit do not have nephilim and slithzeikai IIRC.

They are not playable in Avernum 1 and Escape from the Pit, but they do exist in the game world, I'll correct the post.

Would Cthulhu Saves Christmas fit the definition? Cthulhu does resemble an anthropomorphic octopus.

True, but I would define it more an alien divinity and therefore I would exclude it.

Avernum saga and Legend of Grimrock added to the list thanks!
The Quest for Glory games feature a world with anthropomorphic catlike katta and lion-like liontaurs as prominent characters.

In particular Quest for Glory III: Wages of War begins in Tarna, a city of liontaurs.

Ahah don't worry! Classical worms aren't even really insects in the scientific sense of the word, but still part of the animal kingdom. Wikipedia can give you an idea if you want to go deeper. ;)
Bug Fables: The Everlasting Sapling
Some King's Quest games also feature anthropomorphic/talking animals. For example Cedric the Owl in King's Quest V and many inhabitants of the Kingdom of Falderal in King's Quest VII including a dog mayor, badger guards, a bear, rabbit, and hippopotamus.

Toonstruck also includes some anthropomorphic/talking animals among the characters of its cartoon worlds.

Fell Seal: Arbiter's Mark has one special party member who is an anthropomorpic insect. With the DLC, it's possible to recruit monsters, many of which are modeled after real-world animals.
Wallace and Gromit's Grand Adventures from Telltale Games has the dog Gromit as one of the two lead characters.
The Alliance Alive HD Remastered:
* The main villains are demons, but their common troops are beastfolk, which tend to be modeled after wolves and foxes. There are parts of the game where you're fighting armies of beastfolk. Furthermore, there's one who joins your party. In addition, one of the optional recruitable characters is a penguin.
