...and throw away your good old PC gamepads, like my collection of the excellent Saitek p2600 which is not natively working on many newer games because MS tries to get rid of competition via shady means as always.

Please help completing this list, I'm sick of this nasty surprise which haunts me even in indie games today.
Having to emulate a new company driven standard if you want to play with a gamepad is just wrong and not always working properly.
Adding support for good old normal USB gamepads via direct input gets more rare every day.
Do so many companies get bribed by Microsoft to only support XInput?

Especcially interesting for handicapped gamers I may think.

So far only Xinput/MS Gamepad compatible:

Apotheon
Bard's Tale
Bastion
BlazBlue Calamity Trigger
Blur
Brothers: A Tale Of Two Sons
Dark Souls
Dark Souls 2
Darksiders
Deadlight
Don't Starve
Dust: An Elysian Tail
Escape Goat
Gateways
Guacamelee
Limbo
Joe Danger series
Just Cause 2
Mark of the Ninja
Metal Gear Rising
PixelJunk Shooters
Riptide GP2
Rouge Legacy
Runner 2
SteamWorld Dig
Zombie Football Carnage

Escape Goat and Deadlight are especcially bad cases because they interpret normal direct input randomly but have no button mapping which scrambles other solutions.
I could get Runner 2 and Escape Goat to run with joy2key, but not being able to use the d-pad really sucks, so you end up fumbling around with some MS controller emulator again.

It's the same with Apples new headphone standard. It was an exception clearly intended as a new company driven standard and they are getting away with it.

Edit: In other words:
Please mention the other games, that support Xbox-(ok, including the new Logitech stuff) but none of the zillion other PC gamepads that would only need proper direct input and button mapping support which was the standard before Microsoft decided to change it to sell more Xbox gamepads.

Can't add something to your list (perhaps later when I am at home and can look at the games again), but I want to thank you and everyone who will add games here for your effort since this is really an annoying issue, which I also often had :-)

Klumpen0815: Please help completing this list
Here's the complete list:

none

I'm saying this because I've yet to find an XInput game that wouldn't work fine on my Logitech F310 gamepad. E.g. Darksiders was claimed to work only on genuine XBox 360 gamepads, but it works fine on F310 too. I think these rumors were referring to trying to run the game on legacy DirectInput (PS2-lookalike) gamepads, not non-Microsoft XInput gamepads (like F310).

F310 has two modes (which you can change with a knob at the bottom), supporting both older DirectInput games, and newer XInput (X360 gamepad) games. So it is the best of both worlds, with a XBox360 gamepad you may have some issues with older DirectInput games that you may have to e.g. work around with XPadder or whatnot. No such issues with F310.

The only games I recall giving me trouble with F310 were such oldies like Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver and Omikron: The Nomad Soul (also the GOG versions), I recall your character would walk/run all the time forward, even if you were not touching the controller.

However, I think I read somewhere this is a problem with all analog gamepads/joysticks with those games. Those games were developed in the era of early Playstations, back when Playstation didn't yet have analog gamepads. So the controls are apparently designed only for digital gamepads, and the game gets confused with an analog controller (even the PC versions). It seems the only sensible way to play them on PC is either to somehow disable the analog controls in your gamepad (if possible), or just play it with the keyboard.

Anyway, if your intention was to compile a list of PC games which support XInput instead of DirectInput, I presume you'll have to add pretty much all current and future PC games, which have any kind of gamepad support. Like it or not, it appears DirectInput exists only as a legacy mode for gamepads anymore. I've stopped caring, thanks to F310. I hope MS (or someone else) doesn't keep changing it though.

Even better, I've yet to come across a PC game that wouldn't work fine with a mouse and/or keyboard.

I kinda assumed that games were compatible with the XBox controller either because it's a Microsoft product (like Windows?) or because they were developed with an XBox version in mind.

Actually, I'd like it if more games with gamepad support actively supported the XBox controller rather than generic pads because I'm too dumb to figure out which of the buttons is "Button 1".
...though generally, I guess I understand the complaint. Meanwhile, I've also played Runner 2 with a PS2 controller and XPadder before I realized (once again) that I'm bad at games and gave up on it.

Hmm, I must admit I don't enjoy e.g. many racing games or flight combat sims with mouse+keyboard.

Naturally I was referring only to games which have gamepad support, and are suitable for it. I mostly don't want to play e.g. PC FPS or RTS games with a gamepad, even if it is F310.
No games are forcing ME to buy anything - my work colleague gave me an old 360 controller for free!
(I guess I am slightly tempted to upgrade to an XBONE one though - a properly functional D-Pad would be cool for a start!)

Oh I was just being a smartass. I play most 3rd person games with a gamepad.
Xbox360ce makes my Twin USB PS2 adapter useful for any modern game, and bonus points for it being direct input and compatible with the joystick support of older titles as well.
Gaucamelee! the gameplay with keyboard and mouse is the pits!

Thanks for an ontopic reply.

I didn't expect this at Guacamelee, damn.

@all the others: I don't want someone to try forcing me to buy a Logitech gamepad that follows this MS standard either, I want to play with my Saitek p2600 because of the good dpad and 2x3 button rows (and the 4 shoulder buttons but those are nothing special anymore). I won't buy a Logitech gamepad anyway, the last one I had was shit in the long run and every pad that hasn't got two button rows with three buttons each for the right thumb are not interesting me and I have enough gamepads anyway and no desire to buy more.
I played through Soul Reaver 2 and the other Legacy of Kain parts (expect the first one) with those and the controls were excellent btw, especcially in Soul Reaver 2 (my favourite action RPG).

Just to be clear here, you're looking for games that are XBOX controller specific and not just games that just don't work well with KB+M? Like Dark Souls?
The 360 controller is the only gamepad supported by BlazBlue. It's certainly "required" if you want to play local multiplayer.

Mark of the Ninja also only supports XInput controllers. There might be a few others that I know of that are not listed, but they are not exactly coming to mind at the moment. Dust is probably XInput locked as well, but I do not remember.

Gotcha. :)
