According to a new Galaxy banner ad Elder Scrolls: Arena and Daggerfall will be made available as separate free games here, so you don’t have to buy a Bethesda game to get them anymore.

There it is! Not sure if it's going to be a permanent arrangement. I'll wait for the sale to end before updating the original list.

I'm pretty sure they're permanently free on Steam so this is just bringing them in line with that.

They've been permanently free on Bethesda's website for the last 10 years.

Yes, but the last time I checked, the version on Bethesda's site required a bit of tinkering and were based off of the floppy version of both games, ergo the inferior version of both.

After visiting these sites and logging in I noticed that I would not be able to opt out from customized adds ... say hello to some ignored EU laws.
Some might miss this, but I'm capturing this as free DLC with purchase since you'll have to buy it before you can redeem it for a limited time.

Old World - Heroes of the Aegean DLC free for 2 weeks from the 19th of May 2022 till the 2nd of June 2022 with every purchase of Old World.

Go go go!

I'm sorry, I just verified that the link was still up by opening the bookmark and seeing that there was a "download" link, I haven't downloaded them from that site in years. When I downloaded Arena a decade ago, and Daggerfall at least 6 years ago there was no need to log in, no DRM, and you just got the game with links to the manuals and instructions on how to use DOSBox.

No need to apologize. Btw, the sites forwards to the Steam pages now anyway.

It's still a free however.

Once again, Bethesda's largely ignoring us GOG users in favor of Steam.
Only thing we use Ste*m for is reviews of products listed here to make a purchase decision, as there is more feedback there, some of which is comprehensive and quite perceptive. As for buying anything there, we quote Tony S: "Fuhgeddaboudit!"

??? Those two games are free on GOG as well. Anyone with an account may download them.

Have a look here in case you have missed this list for five years: https://www.gog.com/en/partner/free_games
The list is linked on the front page.
