From the first post... "Dragon Age: Origins (Europe)"

Does this version not have the inert EA Core files or disk check? If so, where do you get the European version? Thanks!

PREY (Europe / UK Version) removes Copy protection with 1.4 retail patch the 1.4 patch makes the game a NOCD / NODVD VERSION.

Funny this game is still being sold on E-bay!

It does have a disc check, but for the purposes of this list that isn't counted as DRM. At the end of the day you can still install and play the game without ever connecting to a server.

The DLC, well, that's another thing altogether.
Thanks. These are a tad older though, so I'll leave 'em out, because including every pre-2008 game will result in a very, very long list.

Not all of them are in retail though, and those are pre-date 2008.

Maybe not in retail but they got both Amnesia and a complete Penumbra pack for sale on their digital store right now. It's cheap and they get all the profit plus its DRM free so it's all good imo. I'm pretty sure that boxed version I have is also DRM free but you might have to use amazon or whatever to get that.

Just seen this thread because of the latest bumps. The European version of Cryostasis (published by 505 Games under license by 1C Company) is DRM-free. I know I installed it off-line without any problem. There's also patch 1.1 that fixes some bugs and improves the PhysX performance (and adds an extra weapon that doesn't work very well without a PhysX card) that can be found and downloaded from several sources, including The Patches Scrolls.

Anyone know if there are any retail versions of Mirror's Edge without DRM?

Not that I'm aware of. All of the retail versions here in Europe have SecuROM limited activations with revocation.

I could really do with some more suggestions. Hopefully you guys know of more retail games that are drm free. Specifically from amazon.

I have Venetica [PC] from Retail here in USA.
I bought it at GameStop.
It's DRM-FREE. :)

Also, Beyond Divinity (PC) from Retail in USA here had its StarForce DRM disc-check all patched-out with Patch 1.49.

I've just checked Dark Souls: Prepare to Die retail. The game itself is by and large DRM-free - it doesn't require a serial code or specific activation to play offline. When the game starts, you can just press ESCAPE on the code screen and it will have a good whinge about you being limited to offline play. It does, however, have a forced online release date check, so I can't include it in this list, because I have no idea what it's connecting to and if the date server will eventually be shut down.

Beyond Divinity is pre-2008, though so I've left that one be.

A rare addition in this age of DRM insanity: Carrier Command: Gaea Mission has just reached my postbox and is confirmed to be DRM-free.

Also removed Torchlight 2 as the retail version did have DRM in the end.

Are you sure this is DRM-free?
