bela555: Should I post this here or not? Hmm...
In the future, use this thread, which is more up-to-date.

Also, Don't Starve is already mentioned in the list.
The processes which are executed on the first launch can manually done. All of these processes are written in "installscript.vdf" file on root directory of the game.

Even an application which creates backup installers from installed DRM-Free Steam games can be written. The installer creates an archive file with executable. While restoring, it extract files, creates shortcuts and executes processes listed on "installscript.vdf".
I haven't fully checked it out, but running Final Fantasy X Remaster directly from the folder wouldn't let me bring up the overlay and steam said I wasn't playing anything.

I think Squenix is finally making some progress
Does anyone know if the Doom BFG Edition is drm free or any of the doom 3 + expansion? Any info would be great! thanks.

No idea about the original Doom 3 (supposedly there used to be a patch from id's site, but it doesn't seem so anymore), but Doom 3 BFG will not launch without Steam by default. Your only option is to use a source port like this one.
