It seems that you're using an outdated browser. Some things may not work as they should (or don't work at all).
We suggest you upgrade newer and better browser like: Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer or Opera

I actually don't see who I thought it was. Must be why I haven't been nailed yet.

stg83: They also haven't taken any initiative to hire anyone for this purpose which shows a clear lack of intent.
Until recently there was a job opening for a Community Specialist, which seems to have been recently taken down. So we should be seeing a new blue fairly soon (month or two I'd say).

They need developers to work on adding new features and fixing the issues with the forum as GOG themselves have said when inquired about it, not just community managers as that role is currently being handled by Judas. The developer positions they are currently offering, all seem to indicate that its for work on either the new website or the GOG Galaxy application from the job descriptions that I have read.

If they bring in someone who is only interested in "moderating" everything, I will shit through their letterbox.

Haha...yeah, I don't think that if they hired a Community Specialist he would be responsible for moderating the forums, GOG is too lazy for that :P.

But instead I presume it would be just to lighten the workload for Judas, so he can get back to making all those game manuals. ;)
So... they're "bringing in a specialist" eh? One of my favorite clichés!

Maybe its Mr.Wolf and they need to get rid of a dead GOGbear that was...

...I'm gonna stop there.

Posting is gone, but the Internet Archive still has the page. So, to quote what the responsibilities will be:
Responsibilities

Co-create a solid strategy for our social media channels with our Marketing team.
Develop, compose, and implement community-targeted content in cooperation with the Marketing & Design teams.
Moderate and administrate the GOG.com official forum and participate in our social network communities.
Be proactive in searching for new ideas and ways to talk with our community.
Monitor key gaming forums and communities.
Build and maintain relationships with influential community members.
Support the organization of events with the presence of our community (i.e. GamesCom).

If you need backup I have a collection of hot sauces...
I find the community takes a back seat.
I think the main page is a gaudy mess that's hard to navigate and should simply have banner, an equally horizontal bar with tabs for new games/discounted games/most purchased & the second half of the main screen dedicated to main game topics (eg. regional pricing, DRM, game bugs/patching).

Things being as they may the forums do need easier to find username searching so you can look for your old posts and where someone has quoted you in reply and cut out all the chaff in between.
It also needs up AND down vote capability that can be toggled.

Also on an Aesthetic note it's a trudge to look at, needs a light fade to the window border so it doesn't look like ye old yellow envelope with inserted death threat.
I've tried with three browsers now (Internet Explorer, Chrome, and Firefox) but my new threads simply do not appear! I'm trying to post on the Might and Magic series forum.

Apparently this was because I tried posting links but got no error/warning messages when I did. Instead, I tried posting to no avail.

How do I get the ability to post links?

That is because you are a "new" user, after you have posted here a bit and therefore gotten some rep (don't know the number exactly, I think something between 5 and 10 rep) you will be able to post links.

Thankee!

I understand why such a system is in place, yet it feels awkward for people who want to use it for legit purposes.
Why the hell isn't this thread sticky anymore? I think it's rather important!
