I haven't studied the previous 510 posts closely, so perhaps someone has mentioned this already, but one simple improvement would be case-neutral alphabetical listing for the http://www.gog.com/forum subforum list. Currently I have to remember that 'STALKER series' comes before 'Sacred Gold'.
Sometimes I'd like to have a reason for downvotings of me, currently there are some that I simply don't understand.

Best to just totally not care even the slightest bit. If something seems irrational, humans can be irrational so trying to figure it out is kind of well... irrational as well. ;) The numbers are not used for anything of material importance and even bringing them up in conversation can cause people to just silently react and do it even more knowing they're getting a reaction.

Yep, I just noticed that. -.- *sigh*
On the community page don't show already read blue posts as unread. Currently the little ! icons light up even when they shouldn't.
Hi I just hat a first question which i found out by myself and wanted to answer it. These two issues took me some time:

1. I can't find the reply button if I want to answer my own question, I have to hit "new post" which is not logical.

2. I can't mark an answer as the solution if I myself wrote the answer

Thanks great site btw

The reason you can't mark your own answer as a solution most likely has to do with reputation points being earned by answering questions. If one could ask and answer one's own questions, the reputation system would be more easily manipulated than it currently is.

Barefoot_Monkey made a wonderful addition to the functionality with their Barefoot Essentials script. A list of forum and site enhancements from the script can be found here.
May i offer Steam greenlight Giveaways?

Thanks.
I browsed forum logged out after long time once again and I have to wonder why is default topics per page st to the lowest amount?
Wouldn't it be more sensible to up the default amount? I don't think many people leave it that way anyway.
Maybe it would prevent some duplicate topics.

Why would one need to mark his own post as solution? Such situations are rare and it could be abused to gain rep quickly by cheating.

aah I understand thanks for clarification!
This may have been mentioned before but I haven't done a search...

The ability to post Polls would be nice. I can think of a myriad reasons to include them.

Only to reduce the amount of threads where there are no discussions and people just throw out a "random gaming list" based upon A or B reasons would be one. Another is to get some statistics based upon the members of the site which might hopefully spark some discussion. :)
This isn't 100% part of the forum, but it is a problem I encounter every time I go to the forums: on the Community page, the "Weekly Highlights" of the community page is self-defeating. The items in it get the most attention, so they get the most votes, so they become the weekly highlights, so they get the most attention, so they get the most votes...

Just remove the thing.

"weekly highlights"? - do you mean the "hot topics" at the bottom right? - i also find it a bit annoying.
I think Blackdrazon means the Community wishlist at the top right. It could use a more random classification to show the items, but then, there are way too many wishes with less than 10 votes... they should do random appeareance of wishes over 250 votes, for example.
