I usually do not like to be a hindrance to anyone or anything, but lately I have noticed that there has been a lack of "good" releases for a while. Is it just me? When I first joined GOG, I was always excited to see classics being released every week. Now classics have become an even rarer entity. I still love GOG's DRM free policy, but I just feel that they aren't trying as hard as they used to in acquiring classic titles (especially after .

I am just curious if you guys have similar feelings or noticing any trends?

My fingers are crossed for 2015.

Personally, I am waiting for the classic Tom Clancy titles.

Well it IS Monday.
I guess it isn't just me then.
Actually, to some extent though, it is just you.

Just because you don't like or want the games you've been seeing on GOG lately doesn't mean that they're magically not "good". Crimson Clover: World Ignition (December 3) has had overwhelmingly positive reviews across the board on Metacritic, here on GOG, and on Steam. Same with Freedom Planet (Dec. 5), which has apparently done for fans of Genesis platformers, what Shovel Knight did for the NES/SNES platformer afficionados when it came out in June 2014. Lumino City (Dec. 3) has had some mixed reviews, but it's gotten some good press on Steam. Drox Operative may be one of the best space RPGs/indie CRPGs out there, and NEO Scavenger has had an incredible amount of good press and overwhelmingly positive reviews, including reviews on Steam, GOG, and Rock Paper Shotgun. I personally even enjoyed Braveland Wizard, even though its lack of depth and short gameplay left it lacking in key areas.

I understand if you're not into platformers, retro games, RPGs, indies or survival games. That's totally fine. And we all know that a lot of GOG's recent releases aren't perfect. But it's not right to just dismiss GOG's recent releases out of hand as "lackluster", just because they're games you don't like or aren't interested in.

I think its safe to say that the group of people who dont like platformers is fairly decent sized compared to the rest...
or maybe the current releases dont cater to your taste
doesnt mean they are lacklustre just not your cup of tea

Lets not forget that just a few months ago GOG got Lucasfilm/Disney aboard which led to six classic games being released at one time.

In the OP it seems the CrashLT is a bit more worried about the age of the releases (IE: classics vs new games) than making a comment on the new games' actual quality.

as if the age of a game is a standard for quality
lots fo news games are tosh
lots of old games are tosh too

and the actual quality is in the eyes of the beholder

Let's also not forget how that went:

GOG: We got LucasArts! You'll get 20+ titles! Here are the first six!

Community: Yes! Finally! When can we expect more than those initial six games?

GOG: ...

Community: Uhm, GOG? It's been a while. How are those LucasArts releases coming along?

GOG: ...

Community: GOG? Are you there? LucasArts? Hello? It's been a long time and you've said nothing.

GOG: ...

If you happen to know that GOG has ever actually answered those questions, by all means do link to the answers. I am aware that I may simply have missed them, but the above is the distinct impression I have of the situation.

Have the same impression, GOG have much to learn on the communication front.
