i assumed most users here were 25plus at least, i been mod (long time ago) in a forum where the average age was 16 , you can expect such acts from 'kiddies' but grownup dont hunt for karma/rep or whatever they call it in what forum?
Same for down repping or dekarming (remove 1 karma a day) i never derepped anything and will never de rep anything.

I have steam account cause all the people talked about it, i got curious and created one, well that community has many parts of the 'forum' that look and read so childish, its like a digital comic.
Sometime it looks as if steam exists of 75% minors, those from 13 -16 and loads from <13 who are 'governed' by their parents.

Just read the comments, first they vote for a game (greelit) 90% of the same user destroy a game in reviews and downvote (dont recomend) the game, now why upvoting so it gets a green light and destroy it when the game is not to there liking?
That greenlit is funny to watch, its hilarious, but it also shows its bad, very very bad, plus new rules state that each game needs to get greenlit again, for every single game.
I spoke with a dev and he explained that to me, seems they want to keep the number of 'shitty' games , pardon ma french, to a minimum by having the dev get a greenlit for every new game.

If this would have been applied in the 70s/80s to all big companies like M string (mickeysoft)
then a lot of crappy software would never been released to the public.
Even the big westwood and ea have some games that are not that good, but these dont need greenlit they release stuff themselves.
So steam is a big entertainment show and a good laugh, when i feel sad i watch a steamshow, just read some dumb replies on the steam community and the smile is back :D
Such is the case when you have a communication medium that allows you to anonymously broadcast any/all of your thoughts and words to a global audience, with almost no meaningful consequences, practically zero accountability, with negligible effort.

And really, with all of the rampant no-strings-attached generosity going about the forums, culminating in the various threads where people were dropping free game codes left, right, and centre, the current situation is where it was bound to end up.

Frankly, the only thing that surprises me now is that it took this long for things get to this point.

Contact support regarding the public harassment in the thread with a link and screenshots, maybe it will finally prompt GOG to actually do something instead of trying to sweep the issues on the forum under the rug. Instead of seemingly being done with this problem after the less then satisfactory implementation of the two missing Block and Clear features in Chat.

Although I should add that there is a difference between someone trolling and being offensive without cause compared to someone actually scamming or exploiting people on the forum. Simply naming users in a list without any context isn't really a good idea with no evidence to back the claim and is tantamount to a witch hunt that doesn't really serve the community in any way.

thats why, way back in the now gone forum i was mod, the - vote was removed
i think the - vote on Gog is also better off when its gone...
Or the - needs a fix, cause you cant have negative rep/karma
obviously a coding mistake that allows - (negative) numbers, even in simple visualbasic this can be easy prevented
i think that i been looked at this - numbers bug can be easily solved.

Just remove the - button and also the code dont just comment it out but physically remove the codes and or any 'routines' or 'calls' make sure that there also is noway they can abuse the url by typing some commandos or instructions to bypass or invoke other forumstuff in the adressbar.

agreed on the scamming/exploiting, thats a staffs job to do ....
as far as trolling and or offending links/images linking:the larger a forum is, and the more topics it has the harder it will be to keep it clean.
They could assign a special gog cleaning team to clean out the trolls and keep the forums clean, but then it would look like a witchhunt, and that isnt good.

So i guess it will be difficult to keep things clean, what strikes me most is that usually this trollings happens with free discussion forums, free sitebuilder forums where they can ask things abouut how the sitebuilder works, alot, its weird that in a commercial siteforum, where you can buy commercial games be it old or new, members just sign up to only troll the living daylight out it.

Thats just weird, cause it shouldn;t happen, why would any human being in his/her rightmind signup here just to troll? Maybe its a small group having gazillion proxies or so or using vpn or whatver just to troll for fun.
I cant believe that if there would be lets say 1000 troll in a forum, that all these trolls would be 1000 unique persons, i think its a small group doing this, and also use automated stuff to troll.

That's curious. And wikipedia mentions the cause for the noise.

And I'm even more curious now, I remember a physicist once telling me that supersonic turbulence is migraine inducing. And I'm wondering if that wouldn't cause extra stress on the propeller blades, forcing them to be replaced often lest they snap off mid-flight due to metal fatigue.
