No, I understand "how" to scam -- making multiple accounts, keeping up a strawman argument (I'm not sure if I'm using that term right), and doing it very frequently to take as much as possible (even automate things) -- but all that... it is a lot of effort to be lazy.

It is like the pictures of the over-complicated machines people make to do simple tasks, like cooking eggs -- the time and effort that was taken to construct such a machine would have been better applied to... cook eggs, squeeze juice, make pancakes... do a lot more things than just make a crazy contraption to cook eggs for you. A contraption with so many moving parts that if any one failed, the entire machine would collapse.

Like Sage posted, it is difficult for some people to quantify the amount of time it takes to create multiple accounts. I can easily quantify this, but then I fail to understand the cost/effort ratio of making all those accounts in the first place.

I've read somewhere that there is some website that makes you a disposable email, not sure how it works but i'm guessing it gives you a random email (ex: mail6554878745641@email.com) for a period of time and you're allowed to have as many as you like (or a large number of it, let's say 50), all you have to do is copy/paste in the website that is offering emails and collect the keys.

I'm going to guess this takes like 10~15m to collect 20 keys (before all of them run out), set up a random trade page (reddit or forums) and collect the money (or trade for games).

If it's worth the time & effort? Dunno, but there is an old saying in my country ("Grão a grão enche a galinha o papo" - translated should be something like grain by grain the chicken gets fed) that basically says that bit by bit you get a large amount.

Still seems like a bunch of time and energy that could be spent playing a game after spending a few dollars to own it forever. But hey thats just me.

Some people get great pleasure out of scamming/fooling/bilking others out of something through deceiving or misleading them. Getting something for nothing and turning it into something else that they may want. Sad, but that's how some people get their jollies.

Yeah well, people really hate clubs and love hearts. I'm not really sure why any of this is news. Ultimately, it's a risk that people take when they trade with people they don't know. I've never been scammed, but that's largely because I only trade with people that I know and who have been around here for quite some time.

People in the old Ninja thread and their offspring have decided to trust unknown people (or that they really don't care what happens with their codes).

Some people decides to trust unknown people initially but with threads like this one were we can identify those who have not behaved as desired and then we can decide not to gift/trade with them again.

All this thread is accomplishing is encouraging people to engage in scams. There's the people that are just trolls to begin with that get fed. Then there's the people who see that other people are scamming and as a result are more likely to scam than they would otherwise have been.

People can do what they want, but the best thing is really to just not trade with people that you don't know or at least understand that there isn't really anything that can be done.

That is your choice. Is the best for you.

Trying to recapitulate for future readers:

advancedhero and ceterum asked for the same games as recounted by sgt83 and their behaviour pointed to being accounts for the same individual. That seemed confirmed by one [url=http://www.gog.com/forum/general/baroque_thread/post6]following a conversation from the other.

Also, advancedhero has traded with gifted copies as noticed by RWarehall and even creating a mysterious giveaway that a new user won and did not even thanked for.

Afterwards, it was confirmed that pokeharvest was trading with gifted games and it was also confirmed to be another account of ceterum.
