Leroux: Why do GOG sales always feel so arbitrary, no matter how they try to frame them?
It at least encourages nice sale art :). The bunny is super cute!

I recommend: all of the Falcom games (except maybe the Zwei games; Xanadu Next annoyingly has the button to start a conversation also the button to cancel it rather than continue it, unlike any of the others; Gurumin, Ys Origin, and Trails in the Sky are good places to start), Amnesia: Memories, CrossCode, Wolfstride, Cosmic Star Heroine, Akiba's Trip: Undead & Undressed (i.e. the less expensive one, which is a later and, from the reviews of the other one, better game; both are nearly the same story it sounds like).

Haven I want to like and did like as a visual novel (and the music!) but it was hard to get into the game play and once I did get a hang of it the game didn't let me relax and proceed at my own pace so it was frustrating and I haven't quite finished it yet.

I didn't like: Agarest, Solstice, Cinders.

The Trails series Japanese release order (and best story order) is: Sky (x3), Zero, Azure (translated version is supposed to release in March), Cold Steel (x5), Reverie.

bszoke88: Please also include original Japanese audio / text for these games.

Sarang: This, especially on text. I want to buy the older Tales games before Cold Steel and improve my Japanese understanding.
The scripts are available on Trails in the Database You can read the Japanese text, there is an English translation and you can listen to the lines being spoken.
Thoughts on some of the games in this sale:
* Elminage Gothic: A really good Wizardry-like. it's like the earlier games in the series (1-3), but with considerably more content. The game goes out of its way to give many of the classes and abilities niches to fill, like having enemies that are specifically vulnerable to things like instant death, for example. Just be aware that the game is quite brutal; the second dungeon has enemies that can behead you (and resurrection is unreliable and can cause stat loss), and later enemies will level drain you.
* Wizardry: Labyrinth of Lost Souls: Not as good as Elminage Gothic, so get that first (especially considering the cost). It can still be worth playing if you like this style of game, but there's less content, and combat later on might get a bit too lethal.
* Ys: The Oath in Felghana. This game, like other Ys games, should be treated like an action game with RPG elements rather than like an RPG. It can be a fun game, with bosses that feel very much like action game bosses in the way you fight them (much of the fight is about dodging enemy attacks and finding an appropriate moment to strike), and magic being something that you use constantly with short recharge times. Worth noting that, compared to the other two games using this engine, this game has considerably more platforming, so expect to have to do a lot of jumping onto platforms or else fall into pits.
* Ys Origin: Same engine as the previous game. Notable in that there's multiple playable characters (including a female one), and that the entirity of the game takes place in a single dungeon, one that first appeared in Ys 1. (There is some variety, as there's different tiers, each with a different environment; the game even has a water level.) Magic is actually more useful than in Oath in Felghana. If you're into the storyline, I suggest playing Ys 1 and 2 first. My one complaint is the unskippable cutscenes. Bosses, again, are like action game bosses; some return from Ys 1 and 2, but they've had their attack patterns completely redone, and I note that the bat boss is far more manageable and fun this time around.
* Ys VI: The Ark of Naphistm: The original game using the engine. Magic use is much rarer here (and more powerful when you do get to use it), but one interesting aspect of this game is the accessories you can equip, each with different effects. I do, however, remember one chest in particular that you need an advanced technique to get.
* Ikenfell: A nice little queer RPG, to the point where pretty much every major character is queer in some ways. Curiously, none of the party members are male; the one who uses he/him pronouns is actually non-binary. Enemies are visible and move in realtime; once battle starts, it occurs on a grid, and you need to time button presses to get the best outcomes of your attacks and reduce damage you take (or go into the options menu to force successes). Worth noting that there are also a lot of puzzles in the dungeons. The map is separated into separate screens; between this and the musical style, the game sometimes feels a bit like Link's Awakening, despite being in a different genre.
Do you have any idea what the words you use actually mean GOG?
NISA has 30th anniiversary so where is Disgaea?

Fonzer: NISA has 30th anniiversary so where is Disgaea?
On Steam. NISA doesn't bring their on IP on DRM-Free platforms. That being said, they don't add parasitical DRM like Denuvo either (looking at you SEGA), so it's not that bad.

GOG.com: Kawaii
You keep using that word. I don't think it means what you think it means.

Definitions of kawaii:

Adjective:
(in the context of Japanese popular culture) cute.
>>she paints elephants that are extremely kawaii.
Noun:
the quality of being cute, or objects that are cute.
>>even in a cosmopolitan city like Tokyo, kawaii is everywhere.

Now, what one defines as "cute" is another thing...and entirely subjective.

I know it means cute. If you think that this is the perfect selection of cute games and by that, I specifically mean that only the games included in the sale are cute and all of them are cute, good for you. I'm not in a debating mood at the moment.

How about "You are the cutest thing that is on sale"

What do you think about GOG calling its customer base "cute products"?

Maybe you should also take a break to recover from your concussion. Discussion requires considering the other person's viewpoint too.

For the games on sale here:

Can anyone recommend me what games have extraneous DLC I can avoid? By that I mean heavy costumes and
not extra gameplay stuff. I am up for getting the OST and Artbooks though. Give me a heads up if I am stuck buying those in a bundle.
