They wanted to try somthing a little different.. it wasnt received or organized as well as it couldv been.. But they are still on pace to hit 300k (and theyr probably going to get the funding for a 2nd game from another source)
The "trending" graph on Kicktraq is useless, though. The other one, in the wip-part below ("experimental project cone") indicates it'll be a pretty close call. I think she needs 3k per day now, and it's dipped below that a lot lately.

I think she'll make it in the end, if only because a lot of backers are going to increase their pledges if it looks difficult close to the deadline. However, I also thinks she needs to beat 300k by a decent margin, because things could happen. Like the 10k backer getting cold feet on the last day.
and/or on Steam or GOG (depending on which of those platforms accepts Moebius after beta)
edit : wrote it wrong . I hope GOG will sell it as a pre-order .

Yeah kickstarters almost always have big surges at the end (people who were on the fence decide to commit, and theres one last round of news that brings new people in). So i'd say as long as we average above 2k per day we'l be in good shape for the end (where we'l probably get 10 or 20k per day)
Speaking of 10k backers getting cold feet...... there was a point in this campaign where somebody donated 10k but didnt select the 10k reward tier (we should have 2 10k backers) . Either this person is massively generous, or they made some sort of mistake. Luckily the important thing is that we reach the funding amount... if transactions dont clear for some reason, the project should still get funded.

Ooh, I didn't know that. Hmm.

That's a good point. I'm just kind of paranoid about it. Especially since these two pledges currently seem to be crucial in getting the project funded. If they were pulled on the last day, it could be a disaster.

If I were on Kickstarter crew I would ask him to confirm that donation.

lowyhong: Also, is there any real difference between the $16 and $50 tier? After all, excluding the kiddy adventure game, there's only going to be Moebius.
Yes, besides getting more games (including a second adventure if the studio gets outside funding, which Jane thinks is a possibility), $50 backers get more behind the scenes access (monthly video updates on the games in progress, copies of Jane's design bibles, beta testing, access to steamed launch parties with "Let's Play" sessions with Jane). And the $50 tier includes ebook copies of both Gabriel Knight novels, which are out of print and go for $50+ each on eBay.

Kickstarter won't let her edit the tiers, but she's included some text about this in the main description (under the info about Moebius).

gameon: Um, Its Jane Jensen right? The title of the thread is Jane Jenson. Sorry for being pedantic, lol.

I'm on the fence about this project.
Ooops yeah... my bad.... well I was just hoping to generate some buzz about this and raise awareness a little with just under three weeks to go ;)

I've popped my $50 pledge in..... ah well will see what happens.
Hopefully the first of the month will see some last minute backers.

StingingVelvet: Such a mismanaged Kickstarter at the start. Form a plan, offer one game, build a proposal, THEN launch it.

"Hey I'm Jane Jensen give me money" isn't good enough. It's gotten better now, but seriously.

SimonG: The DF Kickstarter was basically: "Hey I'm Tim Schafer give me money".

And I did....
yeah but Tim Schafer, his Kickstarter video and his games are 50000000000 times better than Jane Jensen's

Hey, her games were great. Even Gray Matter is funny, though.

I can't say about his video since i've never seen it, but Scafer's games have never been better than Jane Jensen's.

Well Tim Schafer's games are great but all of them rather goofy (just like Tim himself I suppose :)).

Jane Jensen's games on the other hand are strictly adult and epic, especially GK2. And I like adult. Game industry in general is still very infantile and genuinely adult titles are rare gems (that said I cannot say I was ecstatic over Gray Matter, it was good but nowhere near the epicness of GK series).

That's why I supported Moebius and not whatever Tim's planning.

Another kickstarter for a project that hasn't even started and it will take few years to finish. Meh.

I think that's why they call it a kickstart.
