Damned glad to hear this news, I was a bit worried what with the implosion of MGM and all. Hopefully the inevitable game will be at least as good as Blood Stone
Given the title I am not sure I am thankful or disapointed I clicked. But yes, this is indeed good news. Although I haven't actually seen any of his Bond films. Kinda hard to top Goldfinger, really.
I don't like the Craig stuff as much as what came before, but they're still good spy action movies. I just don't really consider them Bond movies I guess.
Misleading title is misleading. :(
Tease! You KNOW I love bondage.

Any who, sounds sexy. Can't wait to watch.
What I found sad about the Craig movies, is that Knight and Day with Cruise and Diaz was a better bond movie than Casino Royale or Quantum of Solace were. Bring back Connery, I say. He's still the best dang action hero in movies (as evidence, I offer League of Extraordinary Gentlemen, where he actually made Alan Quatermain cool again).

Casino Royale was absolutely brilliant as far as Bond films go. Quantum of Solace though was a complete miss. The writing sucked, the villain sucked, the pacing was non-existent. Bond depends heavily upon a well crafted and well written villain, doesn't matter how brilliant the actor is if the writing sucks.

But, Casino Royale was definitely amongst the best Bond Films.
I came to this thread with high hopes. Damn you!

So soon after GR's thread? The GoG staff would have a fit.

If by Bond film you mean Bourne movie.

I haven't seen those yet. I still maintain the Craig movies are too...dark. That doesn't make them bad, it's just that they completely threw out the suave, arrogant, humorous, perpetually cool and unconcerned elegant Bond for yet another gritty, bad-arse action hero. That's why I pointed out Knight and Day, Cruise's performance in that movie is far more like the Bond of old than Craig's was. I'm not saying Craig's a bad actor, I'm looking forward to Cowboys and Aliens, I just think the writing completely missed the spirit of the old Bond movies.

It did, and it did on purpose. The Craig movies were made to reboot Bond into a standard action spy series rather than what it was before. I like them as movies, but I miss real Bond movies.

It's gone downhill for quite a while now... Pierce Brosnan had his moments, yes, but it felt lacking in a plot. Craig's Bond iteration not only felt lacking in a plot but it took what was good about Bond films and threw them out the window like an unstable 94 year old granny in a UFC match
I agree that they could do with more humour but not to the extent of becoming farcical. The real thing with the change in style of bond movies is that they're always a product of their era as the bonds themselves are

Mwahaha your disappointment sustains me!

I was going to say it was your blue balls that sustained me but that would give entirely the wrong impression

You've been watching those scenes with the chair......

"You've been 'sacked', Mr Bond !"

WHACK!!!
I thought Casino Royale was outstanding. It was a dramatic change from the old bond movies, but I felt the change was a good one. Quatum of Solace seemed like they forgot much of what made its predecessor so good.
