Not a big fan of Microsoft but this ad its really funny... also illegal under the spanish law, so I guess we won´t see this kind of stuff here.

It's MS, I couldn't help but notice that little lie about Office, who in their right mind uses that flaming turd any more? I used to use it, but since they fucked up the interface and require huge sums of money to upgrade, I just use Libreoffice. At least they don't hide the tools and features I need in hard to find locations.

Hah, the only thing the new office is missing is the FisherPrice Logo with the way they have it set up.

I think most people who need to write documents as part of their work do, since MS Office is what most companies use.

That's more about vendor lock in and the willingness to shell over ungodly amounts of money for an inferior product.

Right now Excel and Powerpoint are still actually useful products, UI aside, but it's not going to be that long before those have been surpassed as well. MS' only real hope is to get a CEO that's actually competent. We wouldn't be having this discussion if Balsack hadn't burned down the company for bonuses.
I never did like this type of advertising. For me it has the opposite intended effect, I feel sympathetic towards google and annoyed towards microsoft.

Had i seen the "sega does what nintendon't" ad back in the day i probably would have ended up with a SNES.

Thankfully here we also have laws that govern this type of thing and at best advertisers can only really say "other leading brands" and do more to talk up their product than to belittle another.

I liked watching Pawn Stars to see all the cool items from history, but man has that show sold out. Tons of product placement now and the show is more about their stupid banter than the items. This is even worse.

Why do networks always drive their popular shows into the ground by pimping them too much?
Has everyone forgotten this already? And now MS is doing it to Google and suddenly it's a problem? :P

Suddenly? The only reason I stuck with Windows for as long as I did was that that mac guy is a complete asshole.

That was a back and forth if i remember correctly. and yes it was childish. Just because people show they're annoyed at this doesn't mean they're not annoyed at the other stuff, so no, it's not "suddenly a problem".

You..used a product simply because you didn't like a commercial by its competitor? o_O

That's why you should use Linux. Linus isn't an arsehole at all. He is a bit of a git though.
I guess that MS must now feel more threatened by Google then Apple as all their latest advertisements over here appear to all be bashing Google.

"Use Outlook, we wont read your e-mail like Google will" ;-) "But we want our XBOne to be connected to the internet all day whilst it watches you"

It really is the lesser of two evils with companies these days.

That's how that works. Apple branded itself the brand of assholes and douchebags, so I went with something else. And at that time my only option for cat video fixes required flash.

That's sort of the thing, when Apple was doing it they had like 5% market share. MS doing it just makes them look petty and insecure. Apple also had some degree of style, douchebag style, but style nonetheless.

Not that they've got anything to be proud of, they're basically 5 years behind everybody else with no signs that they understand what they've done wrong.

The dynamic ribbon interface is one of the most productive tools I have ever seen in the world of word processors. So yes, I happen to use Office.
