sebarnolds: Just registered on Arkadia and, adding all my games on the shelf, I noticed that it didn't suggest me LBA 1 or 2. How can I have them add these games in their database ? Or maybe I writing it wrong ?
The games are Twinsen's Odyssey and Relentless: Twinsen's Adventure as can be seen on this Giant Bomb page.

I tried to search by the main character's name but I don't why but I used Townsen instead of Twinsen :-)

Yeah, I use Backloggery for listing the games that I own and Steam for launching all my PC games. Say what you want about the service as a whole, as a launcher for PC games its very good.

I don't like that boxes on Darkadia's shelf have diffrent sizes. Is there any way to change it manually?
Also what about games with no-end (like sandboxes or mutliplayer) is there any null options?

beforeseven: The Giant Bomb covers are a bit of a mish-mash of different sizes, so it's very difficult to get them all displaying at the same size. You either have to crop parts off some of the covers or use black bars to fill the space for the smaller covers. A list view is in development that will be using uniformly square covers.

The very next release will add an extra toggle: 'shelved'. So then you can mark games as 'completed', or, the games that have no end can be marked as 'shelved' so they don't count against your pile of shame.

Sorry for chiming in so late but the idea for such a program intrigues me.

I haven't read the whole thread but something that would scan my harddrive for games (or at least my shortcuts) would be great. Can a product do this?

Launching the game from that tool would be even better. Plus points if it shows you the last few played games.

A way to sync my database to a Android app would also be very cool.

Anyone else having issues loading pictures of games you are adding on Darkadia? I don't know what's wrong but it could be some plugin or the like. I use chrome.

Edit: I changed to FireFox and what a difference..

I love the page. The cleaniness, the easy-to-use and the book shelf. :)

Thanks but no thanks. I really don't want any socializing with my game playing and leveling up and being online and - gasp - achievements.

Screw the Android client then. Just something that scans my harddrive lists all the games I have but also let's me start them and shows me my last played games.

Occasionally it happens to me that the same set of pictures (or games) is displayed on every page, e.g. I'm on Page 1 of my collection and go to Page 2 and the browser is loading the same set of games again, not a new one. I've got Adblock installed but I don't think it's related, since it usually works fine, it's just some kind of glitch I run into sometimes. In theses cases, I think when I click on the link to the homepage or my collection and the site is completely reloaded, everything is back to normal again.

Bah. That code has been rock solid for so long, I'm surprised you're running into trouble. To help me track down the problem, can you let me know what method you're using to page through your library, e.g. the paging buttons, the prev/next buttons, keyboard or mouse dragging. Would be great, thanks!

Hm ... sometimes this, sometimes that; I guess I've used all of them at least once. Mostly the prev/next buttons or the keyboard but also the paging buttons. And as far as I remember the effect was the same when the glitch occured, but maybe I didn't try all methods. And it's hard to reproduce because I haven't found out what causes it. Most of the time it works just fine. But I'll let you know when it happens the next time.

Yes but I disabled it for darkadia as specific site to see a difference. With firefox I have NoScript and Cookie Management yet it worked without putting the site on either of those add-ons exception list. However, after I did it the page loaded successfully everytime.

I've been on Darkadia for almost 1.3 years, the only thing that I don't like is that they don't cover every system & miss a a lot of games for systems that they do cover. (I've tried adding some of them to Giantbomb, but they never added it).

Something I'd like is if darkadia could be linked with MobyGames.
