It seems that you're using an outdated browser. Some things may not work as they should (or don't work at all).
We suggest you upgrade newer and better browser like: Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer or Opera

Gazoinks: Awesome. Ooh, it lets you launch games from it to? Looks like a pretty nice app. Is there a way of syncing between computers?

cogadh: They way I did that was to save the collection database into a network shared drive that both PCs have access to.
Yeah, I was thinking of doing something like that.
Got one piece of trouble with it though: Information fetching doesn't work. I've tried to update the plugins (on Windows, here) but when I run the updated the command line terminal just pops up for a second and then goes away. Am I doing something wrong?

EDIT: Nevermind, it just started working. I guess it updated succesfully and just didn't tell me.

Thanks for the suggestions, guys :)
What about Steam?

Catshade: I use Darkadia myself. It's free, have a GOG-like shelf, and use GiantBomb's database so I don't have to manually enter release information/box art anymore.
Ah, I like this one. Thank you very much for posting this and thanks to the OP for creating the topic that I didn't know I needed. :)

Burn the infidel!
I can't get the GCstar pages to load today :(

I do like the look of Darkadia.

I used to use a local app that let you input the game name (or even better the ISBN) and it would search its databases to fill in all the info. You could mark games as "checked out", "completed" sections for notes, opinions, etc. Had fields for any data you could imagine.

Can't for the life of me remember the name or find it, but I bet I have it on my backup drive for when I get home.

But I imagine the cloud versions are a little more sought after. I'm not much of a fan of the cloud, but I may use this for insurance purposes if for nothing else ;)

Same here. I'm really thankful for this one!

Your head is already on fire. What does it mean?!
I'd like to give GCstar a try but it looks pretty complicated to install for clueless dummies like myself, or in any case quite intimidating for the average Windows user. Apparantly it's dependent on other programs you need to install first and that are dependent on a bunch of yet other packages that need to be installed, and all of that using command lines instead of mouse clicks? *confused*

Uh, I installed it and it was all automated.

Okay, so it's just intimidating and not complicated. ;)
I'll try that then.

Ah I see the problem now. The Windows version is no longer maintained.

There don't seem to be any more Windows versions for download at the moment. :(

Drat. I guess I'll have to stick to Darkadia then and hope it will last and evolve quickly (can't wait for the introduction of custom sorting categories; I wish GOG had them, too).
darn. gcstar seemed interesting :/
I have a bunch of text files in Wiki Creole format :P
