I have some games from GOG that I didn't install using their default folder names because I have my own naming schemes. Unfortunately, this had the side effect of causing Galaxy to be unable to find them.

If possible, I'd like to remedy that without redownloading, hence the question in the topic title.

It is technically possible to do what you want without re-downloading completely, but you may run into issues and it's not supported...

EDIT:

Sorry I should have read that completely, I read that as you installed them in different locations. So you changed the names? It's still possible to do what you want but I assume these games are installed via standalone installers? GOG recommends a re-download via Galaxy rather than using standalone installers.

Even GOG messed this up themselves by naming some games differently in Galaxy then how the standalone installer does. If you post the games I *might* be able to tell you what Galaxy calls them if I own them.

GOG has stated there will be an import feature in the future to import games installed outside of Galaxy. So I imagine then this will be easy to do.

You talking about games installed via standalone installer?

It's possible to do, but as long as it's an actual supported Galaxy game. Instead of re-downloading the entire game you would simply download a smaller update to make Galaxy recognize the game. GOG doesn't recommend using the standalone installer installed games though, they would rather you re-download it completely in Galaxy. This also doesn't work correctly with every game.

I would tell you how to do it, but I'm not sure how comfortable you would be doing all things you would need to do and troubleshooting issues you may come across. Plus GOG really doesn't what us doing it that way.

By far the easiest way is re-downloading if you have an unlimited net. Your welcome tough.. xD

EDIT: Also be sure to uninstall the non-Galaxy version first. :P
