HijacK: I was happy to discover GOG brought Star Wars Battlefront II to its digital store shelves today. And in spite of my question today, I still am happy that GOG is expanding its Star Wars collection. However, I was struck a bit with intrigue as to why the original Star Wars Battlefront was not added. Just like Freedom Force and System Shock, only the sequel was added. I went ahead and checked to see if the original available on Steam. To my astonishment, I discovered it is not available there either. I then checked Origin, but they don't have any Star Wars games besides the Old Republic.
My question is why is the original Star Wars Battlefront not available anywhere I've searched? And will it ever be made available for purchase? What about the original System Shock and Freedom Force?
Fever_Discordia: The original Settlers too, don't forget that one! I guess Ceasar 1 and 2 too, even though the first one is freeware Oh and Driver 1, the original SimCity (even though, again, there's a freeware version) - the list goes on! My question is why is the original Star Wars Battlefront not available anywhere I've searched? And will it ever be made available for purchase? What about the original System Shock and Freedom Force?
