Szulak: I tried to reproduce it myself, but I couldn't. Are you using any additional programs to 'support' windows minimization, for example PowerMenu or something like it?
Nothing to my knowledge. I started to hunt down any program that integrates with explorer. I'll let you know if I find the guilty one.
----EDIT----

I give up. Can't find it, but I'll list the things I tried:
1. Uninstalling GOG downloader and upgrading to 3.3.5.0 (stable)
2. Uninstalling ALL Microsoft Visual C++ runtimes
3. Uninstalling Adobe Flash, O&O Defrag, Punkbuster, and pretty much any program that has a service running in the background, has a startup entry or has explorer integration
4. Disabling all BHO-s with hijackthis
5. Disabling all startup items

Some more info: The bug manifests at the first start of GOG Downloader (so exiting it and then starting it manifests the bug).
Some stuff I didn't/couldn't test:
1. I have office 2010 pro plus which I upgraded to Office 2013 (trial) then I downgraded back to office 2010.
2. I didn't test uninstalling any of my hardware (NVIDIA, realtek, intel) drivers.

As a feature request I'd like to see "Start Downloader minimized on windows startup"

P.S. You guys have the best support response time I've seen in year. Keep it up!

I will add this to to-do list, and it will be probably added / fixed in the new version. Thanks.

deimios: 1. Downloader version : 3.3.4.0 (stable)
2. OS version : Windows 7 Professional x64 SP1( build 7601 )
3. OS language : US English
4. Downloader log contents if possible: http://pastebin.com/TFyk5MnF
5. GOG Downloader starts up with windows as a normal window. Upon closing the window it minimizes win3.1 style as a small window above the start button instead of the systray. (See screenshot http://tinypic.com/r/1zqc18n/6) Once I restore it and click the close button again to minimize it, the problem dissapears, it minimizes to systray normally.
This happens regardless if I click close before or after the Downloader goes online. The first minimization after a system start will show the bug.

i have noticed the exact same minimization bug, but it doesn't really bother me (win7 x64 SP1 Downloader version : 3.3.5.0)
For some reason the downloader crashes every time when I add Alien Nations installer to it. At first I thought it was crashing because I was adding multiple games but the crash also occurs when I just add Alien Nations.

So far I haven't noticed any other game causing the downloader to crash like this.

edit: I managed to add other games I have to the downloader without crashing. Seems like just Alien Nations causes the crash.

This is a follow up to my prior post.

For some reason, several downloads just freeze at a certain point, the transfer speed remains the same (it freezes at a certain point), and nothing progresses.

Unfortunately, my log is too long to post and attaching it won't work. Is there somewhere I can email it?
Just tried GOG downloader for the first time today. The download will go fine at first (and very fast, I'm on fiber optic) until the download is around 80 or 90% complete, then no progress will occur. The product will still say "Downloading..." and at the bottom of the downloader window it says "Online - 2.51 MB/s". However, the progress bar clearly isn't moving at all, even if I let it go for ~20 minutes. I'm able to access the internet just fine during this time. The really odd thing is, if I exit the downloader and run it again, all of a sudden the product in question will suddenly be 100% complete, and installing the product works just fine. I've installed ~10 products so far, and every single one has required me to exit and re-run the downloader in order for it to recognize that the download had actually already finished.

1. 3.3.5.0 (stable)
2. Windows 7 Ultimate x64. Note I set compatibility mode for the exe to "Windows Vista" and set it to run as administrator. This didn't solve the problem.

I noticed the same thing when I had left the downloader running during the night. Gothic 2 for example had frozen at 99% or so. Judging from log it was stuck repeating following lines during the freeze until I closed it:

Could you try to lower the number of concurrent connections to 2? It will make you download a bit slowly, but more stable (since you had time-out problems).

Hi,

Just downloaded the Gog downloader 3.3.5 and installed it. Tried to download The witcher 2 from my list only for the DL to crash as it was preparing the game for download. Happens every time. Tried a few other games and the same thing happens. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the DL but the same thing happens each time.

Running the DL on Vista 32 service pack 1 with AVG and ZoneAlarm. Never had a problem with the older DL on same system. Also when trying to log into the DL it hangs at please wait forever and I have to shut it down and retry a few times before I get anywhere. It really is stoping me from buying anything in the current sale :(

Any help would be great.

Could you post your log file please? Moreover, add GOG Downloader to exceptions list of your AV and ZoneAlarm.
Hi,

I wasn't able to reproduce this issue reliably. The log I posted above shows when the downloader got stuck (~22:41 local time, 20:41 UTC) and when I closed it several hours later at morning. I encountered the problem twice while downloading 72 games, once with Gothic 2 and once with another game I no longer remember so for me it isn't possible to reproduce.

Regarding the issue with Alien Nations: downloader doesn't crash anymore but I supect that's because the file is no longer found :)

edit: Even direct download with the web browser gives 404 - Not Found error so seems like issue isn't with the downloader only.

Hi,

here is a copy of my log file from a pastebin service.

http://pastebin.com/iqcm15dZ

Let me know if you have problems viewing.

Cheers
Open enclosing folder is opening my documents instead of the download folder with version 3.3.5.

It's windows 7 x64, no logs recorded. Looks to be providing the wrong path to explorer.
