Windows 7 C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Local\GOG.com

downloader version 3.3.14.0 stable

Quick question
Is it normal for the game thumbnails to remain in the named folder above?
I thought they may clear when games are finished downloading, but that's not the case.

Clicking the [X] to minimise the downloader is a pretty bad idea as it is not intuitive that doing so will minimise the downloader to the tray and not just close it.

Its not a big issue imo, but we will fix it in the new version of the downloader.

It was so from the beginning, so changing it wouldn't be a good idea too. Most of the game downloaders (or programs which are working in the background) are "closing" in this way.
Hey,

I'm not able to log in with the GOG downloader. Obviously I'm able to log into my account in a browser :)
I'm using a password manager so I tried pasting the password into the login window first. Then I typed it manually just to be sure (yes I tried that several times). But it keeps telling me "wrong e-mail and / or password".

Version 1.2 (331), OS X 10.8 EN, Log Contents:

As I recall, the downloader had trouble with special characters in the mail/password, but I thought that was fixed. Try changing your password to a simple alphanumeric one and see if that works. If not, send either Fallen_Zen or Szulak a PM.

This may sound ridiculous, but I seem to be unable to send any private messages i the forum. Clicking on PM opens a new browser window that sends me to my GOG account page at I created a new profile in Chrome just to be sure that it's not any of my add-ons interfering. Also tried Firefox and Safari to no avail.

FWIW, My password does not contain any special characters.
I'm currently having issues with the Gog downloader (version 3.3.14). Basically after a period of time my download will stop. In this case I am trying to download The Witcher 2 and it seems to only stop after a period of time, or due to my screen locking. I'm not too sure because I leave it on overnight for the download. When I am using my pc though the download doesn't stop. The way the download stops is also weird because the resume all button remains grey, the pause all is active, and the download status is listed as paused. I'd appreciate any assistance. Thanks!

Also here is the portion of the log that I believe is where the download stopped previously. From 4am to 10am it repeated the same few lines, the suspend - reset cache lines.

4:04:04 AM Downloading chunk .27 bytes range(1415577600 - 1468006399)
4:04:04 AM Chunk byte ranges for chunk correct
4:05:05 AM Resetting cache
4:05:23 AM Worker -1 Requesting
4:05:42 AM Worker -1 Request successed?:True
4:06:00 AM Suspend
4:15:05 AM Resetting cache
4:25:05 AM Resetting cache
4:35:05 AM Resetting cache
4:45:05 AM Resetting cache
4:55:05 AM Resetting cache
5:05:05 AM Resetting cache
5:06:15 AM Suspend

Seems im getting a weird msg that says I can't post any links at this moment on my account. I trimmed down the log files so I could post this edit.

I get "GOG.com Downloader has stopped working" whenever I click a download link.

There's nothing related to the click in the log...the last entries are:
19:45:26 Login ended
19:45:26 Deserialization started
19:45:26 Deserialization ended

Does anyone else have this problem? It was working a week or so ago.

piwer: Hm, I didn't notice that. Will try to check it later.
GOG guys should definitely fix this bug.

Szulak: Unless you do not modify already downloaded files, the downloader will resume the download after relaunching. Are you sure it didn't happen? Keep in mind, after launching the downloader it firstly "adding" already downloaded parts and it looks like downloading - however, this process is very fast. Could you post (or upload to paste-bin like service) your log file, please?
You were right. Thanks for the clarification.
Anyway, while "adding" already downloaded parts, I think it will be better to inform user about that process (by showing "checking" message or something like that)

It can be any server-side issue, lets wait a bit if the problem will still occur. Anyway, could you please post your log file?

We will consider "rename" this process into "Verification" or something like it, thanks.

Other than the server-side issue Szulak mentions, it does happen quite a bit if the first link you click is a bonus package one and the downloader isn't running. Seems like if it gets multiple items to add before being initialized properly, it crashes.
So, either first add an installer and then the bonus contents, or first open the downloader, and then add the bonus content to it.

Alternatively, send your log to Szulak or Fallen_Zen, but do warn them first ;)

I checked your issue, and your PC or notebook going into suspended mode - which stopping the current download. I suggest you change your power settings, you can find them in Control Panel.
