Latest version:

Mac OS X - 1.2 (build 512)
Windows - 3.6.0

Both Downloaders now have the option of sending Error Reports directly to us (this can be found in app under Settings).

I can never download things correctly because the downloads tend to stop 3/4ths of the way through. To solve the problem I had to get a download manager so I could continue my downloads after they stopped. I've never had problems with it and I've been using it ever since. When I tried to download a game I bought here the download slowed to a crawl after five minutes, and completely stopped after ten. I later found out that there was an installer supplied to download the games here. After two minutes of using it, it crashed, leaving no error messages. I tried again and the same thing happened. I tried messing with various compatibility and firewall settings, but they did nothing.

I can't seem to figure out what the problem is and no one else seems to have it as far as i've seen.
I have, however, seen that many people find that the claim that the installer can continue after stopping is a downright lie, or that the package size is completely ridiculous.
GOG Downloader crashes on start.
When trying to open GOG Downloader today, it crashed immediately after start, although it was working fine before. To ensure that my installed version was not corrupted (although I couldn't imagine how it would have gotten corrupted), I redownloaded from the GOG website and installed, but the result is the same. The app window appears very shortly and closes immediately. I noticed that the version I downloaded was created on June 3rd, so it seems there was an update. Any ideas what has changed after the update to let the Downloader crash? I am on OS X 10.6.8.
Thanks!

As I could see from the log file you sent, there are some problems with stored configuration file with downloads info. Please remove everything from the %localappdata%/GOG.com path and add the game again.

Sorry for any inconvenience.

As for the Windows Downloader, we are currently working on fixing all of the remaining bugs. We should be releasing an update within a week or maybe two (probably a Beta release shortly before).

This is currently our priority.
So I sent this with the log but wanted to post this here as well:

Windows 7 X64
Gog Downloader 3.5.2.0 (Stable)

The game being downloaded fully completes but the GoG downloader program doesn't realize that it completes and the bar hangs right near the end at 99% and doesn't go onto the next game or file queued to download. If I open the folder and start the installer of the game, the game works fine. To get the downloader working again I then have to move the downloaded file out of the folder its in to prevent it from deleting the fiile\game and clear the stuck game from the queue. Then it moves to the next file in the queue. This doesn't happen every time but has happened more than once. Kinda reminds me of a paper jam in a printer.

Sorry for the delay. I have checked your log file, and any program (AV / Firewall) or might be your ISP is blocking our address. Could you check again, if you added *.gog.com to the safe list of your firewall / AV, please?
@Szulak: I have no AV programm, and I already add **gog.com to the firewall whitelist.
Though as I already told, I tried it with deacitvated firewall and it would still stay in offline mode, no prompt to login.

The only option I have is to download without the downloader, and I noticed that it has to be that all files should be downloaded the same day, as there are problems with the integrity check. I have already downloaded all files but not on the same day, and those files didn`t pass the integrity check as they were named different. Renaming them didn`t help.

So in the FAQ you write:

"Make sure that the installer passed the file integrity check - if not, please redownload it by using the GOG.com Downloader. This application offers full protection against download problems."

---not working for me. Very dissapointed.

Szulak pasted me contents from your log file and it clearly states that our web certificate isn't trusted for you.

"Die zugrunde liegende Verbindung wurde geschlossen: Für den geschützten SSL/TLS-Kanal konnte keine Vertrauensstellung hergestellt werden.."

Please paste this link into your web browser (https://api.gog.com/en/downloader2/status/stable) and verify if the browser reports the certificate as trusted on your side (you can force it to be trusted). Let me know if this is correct.

There is no necessity to download all files via the web browser on the same day. If after downloading the game, the installer reports that some of the files are corrupted, it means they have been downloaded with errors.

i won't go in the downloader issues (all have been told by the appropriate persons.)

however, on your side :

i highly suggest to add an antivirus as active proctection (there're some decent free antivirus)

as for firewall you can use windows 7 or higher 'one , it's good enough if you know what you use , and don't go in some suspicious sites. Sure if you are paranoid , you can still use a third party firewall.

of course if , you use a mac , that's a bit different, there are far less malware on OSX than Windows, but still....

just an advice , after you do what you want with if ;)
Hello,

We are releasing the beta version of GOG Downloader (for Windows).

This version brings several bug fixes:

- Fixed the download getting stuck on 99%, despite it was downloaded successfully.
- Fixed an issue when the error report window was appearing on system startup - it will only appear in case of a crash.
- Fixed a bug when the amount of downloaded bytes was larger than the download's size
- Some internal improvements to improve stability of the Downloader.

We encourage everyone to test drive and give us a feedback.

You can grab the beta version from the link below:

@Fallen _Zen: Ok, I got this after pasting the link in my browser:
"{"status":"OK","current_version":{"version":"3.5.2","url":"http:\/\/static.gog.com\/download\/d3\/stable\/Set up_Downloader_3.5.2_stable.exe","mac_signature":"","mac_length":"","mac_sparkle_bundle":""},"current_timestamp ":1370961982,"config":{"oauth_get_temp_token":"https:\/\/api.gog.com\/oauth\/initialize","oauth_authorize_temp _token":"https:\/\/api.gog.com\/oauth\/login","oauth_get_token":"https:\/\/api.gog.com\/oauth\/token","get_use r_details":"https:\/\/api.gog.com\/downloader2\/user","get_user_games":"https:\/\/api.gog.com\/downloader2\/us er_games","get_game_details":"https:\/\/api.gog.com\/downloader2\/game","get_installer_link":"https:\/\/api.go g.com\/downloader2\/installer","get_extra_link":"https:\/\/api.gog.com\/downloader2\/extra","set_app_status":" https:\/\/api.gog.com\/downloader2\/set_app_status","error_log_endpoint":"https:\/\/api.gog.com\/downloader2\/ errorlog"},"status_update_timer":180000,"link_expiration":600000}
"

So I got no certificate to verify.
And there is ""mac_signature":"","mac_length":"","mac_sparkle_bundle":"" ???
I started to download this game with the downloader on mac about month ago it worked and I played the game; but I want to play it on Vista now, and started the same procedure --- no prompt to login as in mac. Maybe it `s still connected somehow with my Mac ?

"......some of the files are corrupted, it means they have been downloaded with errors."

I ve downloaded again the same files which were corrupted, than it told me, other files which just passed the itegrity test are now corrupted....and so on ...weird.

@ DyNaer: "I won't go in the downloader issues (all have been told by the appropriate persons.) "
What do you mean? I was only told to pass on the logfile and to deactivate the AV or firewall, which I did first before I wrote here. No AV anyway.

I don`t need an AV program, cause this notebook is for gaming only, it has no access to internet..never have. Until now where I tried to download the game via the Downloader.
I have other Laptops with Linux and they are the only one with internet access. Now I am writing with them. But thanks =)))

Ok it seems we cannot solve the problem here.

the only option for me is try again to download the files without the download manager,
hoping they will pass the integrity check.

no problem , about the AV, i couldn't have known the computer you were using had no access to internet..;)

About the downloader , personally i use Opera for downloading files , since some months. Will see if the new versions have less bugs than proviously...but i gave up the beta testing...

You don't need to run the installer to verify if a file is good or not :

check the digital signature tab (don't ask me about this under Linux though) for the v.2.x.x.x installer or check this
thread :

http://www.gog.com/forum/general/gog_file_sizes_and_md5s/page1

all games aint' listed , but must of them are.

Because all games don't have a v2 installer yet , so it's a good alternative. And mostly because there's no digital signature on a .bin file.

Ok, thanks I will check it .
Recently tried using the downloader today, after not needing to use it for a few months, now, and it just crashes immediately whenever I try to run it on my PC. Tried uninstalling and reinstalling, removing all traces of the program, and the same thing happens. Used to work fine, not sure when this started happening, but currently I can only download files directly.

Win 7 64 bit premium edition. Don't have access to my PC at the moment for other specs or log reports, but any possible help would be appreciated.
