UK_John: Hope you're okay with the hurricane an' all!.

I appreciate it! We did evacuate since we only live 20 minutes from where the eye was going to hit. We won't be able to go home for some time though until city services are restored. We are some of the lucky ones though, as I believe the homes in our neighborhood only sustained minor damage along with no fences at all for anyone anymore, and our little garden shed in the backyard is missing. At least that is according to our neighbor who refused to leave. He wished he had now, saying it was terrifying.

I lived in Clear Lake City for 6 years,so I know the area well and still have good friends there! But anyway, glad you and yours are okay!
I'm Matt from Australia.
I've been playing PC games since I was in primary school, armed with a 386 :), games like the Sierra Quest games (Quest For Glory being my fav of the series), Wing Commander, Ultima, Master Of Orion and god knows what else :)
It's a nice surprise to see a site like GOG come along, It's nice being able to pick up games I missed the chance to play, or where my original disks are damaged and unusable. The soundtracks are a nice touch as well, I listen to a lot of PC game music - after all, I grew up on the stuff!
Hello, I'm Henri and I'm a gameaholic. *waiting for hellos* I started my gaming when I was <2 years old since my big brother had C64... Then when I was 4 my dad bought me Nintendo 8-bit for xmas... Thats where things started to go downhill... I played with nintendo lot more than I should've... :P And at the age of 8 we got our first computer(I think it was 386 thingies or so) from mom's workplace(and after that she always brought "new" computer from there every 3 year when they got new computers to work with) I can't quite remember what was the first game in PC that I played... It was propably Scorched Earth(does anyone remember this "The Mother of all Games"). I played a lot with consoles during my early years since I didn't have very good computer to begin with and not much good games... (I have NES, SNES, PSX, PS2, Xbox360, Wii, PSP) But I think I was 10-11 when I got lot better computer(Dad invested so no more crappy 3 year old office computers to play with). I played lot of Diablo, Fallout 1&2, Warcrafts and C&C series games at those years. I also got my obsession to Final Fantasy series with the legendary FF7 back then... After FF7 I was more and more interested in RPG games but over the last 4 years FPS has come back as stress release form :P
Well I could continue with my boring life more but looking at what I wrote I think I'll end this session now...

Grekon: Hello, I'm Henri and I'm a gameaholic. *waiting for hellos*

hahaha!
Hi folks
I read about GOG in Retro Gamer magazine, and think it's a great idea!
I've been a gamer since the LED games, progressing thru Atari 2600, Amstrad, Mega Drive, Amiga, PC, Xbox, Wii, 360... :)
I hail from Edinburgh, Scotland, although I live nearer Glasgow now.. love pretty much all forms of gaming (but bizarrely seem to be one of the few who dont like online games..), and I've been gaming for pretty much the last 25 years!
Hope to get some real classics from here.. hope the site really takes off!
Feel free to say hi!
Hello fellow GoGers!
I am DuoMatrix and I am an Avid Gamer. I have been gaming since I was a wee one who now owns a Wii. Sorry couldn't resist. My first system was an Atari 2600. I am a staunch supporter of Nintendo but I do love to play games on other systems. The platform be it from Nintendo, Sony or Microsoft or a PC does not matter to me as long as the games are good. I don't have a favorite genre off game but I do have a strong dislike for realistic sports games and driving simulators that try to be 100% realistic, I'm looking at you Gran Turismo!
I work in a Small town in the US where I am basically the local tech for our store. I do everything pretty much. I debug and defrag all the computers. Even going as far as to perform surgery on defunct ones. To put it simply I keep all the electronic elements of the store up and running. Tis a fun job.
So yea that is a little bit about me. And its great to be here.
Yo.
Voa sittin' right here (long story.)
I started off my gaming on my father's aging Mac II, which still takes a prideful place next to my current gen PC. One has to know where one's come from to enjoy where one is going. I also used to go nuts of my old megadrive, till that got last in the wild blue yonder. I kinda took a break from PC gaming for a while when I got myself a PSX and then went through a vertitable catalogue of games, through to the PS 2. On the advent of getting a more powerful computer, and Diablo 2 (along with a 'net connection), my interest in what I could do on a PC was rekindled, and has been burnin' bright since then, though I always did miss the simplicy and joy of some of the oft over looked games of times gone by.
Which would be why I backflipped like I was that black dude from Nevar Gonna Give You Up when I heard about GoG, and signed up right away.
By the way, is it GOG or GoG for proper shortening? Minus the periods, of course. I prefer GoG, it also serves as a relative expression of how I looked when I found out that such a wonderous place exsited.
Hello all
I've been around a bit on abandonware and classic game forums, as well as frequenting 3DRealms and Shacknews. My favourite genres are Adventure and RPG. My fav game of all time is Ultima VII.
Heya, my name's Cliftor.
I lived in a house where games were huge no-no, worse than TV. My only gaming was a Gameboy phat my parents bought for my my brother and I to share on road trips.
Now that I'm a big boy with money, I'm here to play classics I missed (DRM free), because in the intervening years I've become quite a gameaholic. Yeah, I could steal most of these games, but I feel so much better about the post-purchase support, implied warranty of merchantability, and Vista support. The price is right too.
I'm thinking Fallout first. I'll start the download tomorrow.
Happy gaming, everyone!
Hello! Jonathan, 26, Australia here, and I am just realising that sounds like I am in a dodgy IRC channel.
Earliest memories of gaming are those of trying to decide to boot up the C=64 or hook up the atari2600 on the old black&white TV. The C=64 usually one in the end due to the sounds of the SiD chip, the MOS6581, my sister came to hate the WIzball title track eventually...
Aside from a few exceptions, I've always looked to the stuff released quite a while ago, so I am now taking the oppertunity to play all the stuff I missed the first time around.
I'm Ken and I've been playing games since the Commodore PET / C64 days... i.e. fossil ;)
I work at GarageGames in Eugene, Oregon helping work on the engines that empower indie gamers to make their own creations. I still love to play the old games.. probably moreso than anyone else I know. This site seems to have a great community growing in it and I hope both the community and the good old games continue to flourish :)
Hellowee, GoGgers.
I'm 17-years-old guy from Finland, and of course, addicted to good old games.
I found my way here months ago when I was searching for games that only works on ScummVM, nowadays. Like Indy, FotAQ, Day of the Tentacle, Lure, MI, Sam & Max..
First game I remember is Monkey Island 1, one of the best adventure games ever made by LucasArts. I started it as a 5/6/7-years old lil kid - and play it yet today. Otehr games I play a lot are AoE series, Sims series, SimCity series, City Life series, the Longest Journey, Redneck Rampage, C&C series, BF, NFS, Star Wars, GTA series, Elder Scrolls series, Largo Winch, MI, Flight of the Amazon Queen, DotT, Indy series, Lure, Sam & Max series, WoW, Restaurant Empire, simulation games, adventure games, FPS..a lot.. all the best :D
So i'm kinda addicted to PC games.
Wish those best adventure games ever will be here someday, sometime.
Btw, this idea of selling DRM-free games is awesome.
