I am a 39 year old male, living in the united states of america, I was born and raised in the midwest, mostly Missouri and Kansas, at the age of 6 or 7 i received an Atari 2600 for Christmas and my life pretty much changed forever, from that point on, (which we later traded in for a Atari 400 IIRC)

I played I have played about every game machine, played some pc games, through it all i have seen systems birthed, rise, and fall, the arcade crash of 82, (or so) the rebirth of home gaming starting with Nintendo, and still continues to this game with motion gaming

I have a talent for writing, i have written stories about my favorite games, being Resident Evil, and World of Warcraft (though i am not playing right now, and haven't for sometime)
Hey everyone I'm Kaz,

I'm a 24 year old student currently working on my PhD in 3D image processing and biomaterials in the uk

I've been a massive gamer since I was 4 (family of computer geeks) I found gog after a link on steam and I haven't looked back, being able to play all the classic games I could never find or even run on my old systems has been awesome!

Currently catching up on my back log of point and clicks and port royal (like pirates but multiple ship combat!)

On a side note do we have a group for old mp'gaming and such as rocking bg1 or 2 (or pr) over the net some weekend would be cool

wwee: A long time gamer who started on the Apple II - man there were really good old games on that platform!!
I remember playing my first Bard's Tale on the Apple II - Welcome aboard.
p.s.
I've started with the Sinclair Zx Spectrum :-)
Seems to be a common start here :D
Anyway, after the Spectrum I've had the NES, the GB and a lot of pc and other consoles.
My first multimedia pc was a Pentium 166 mmx with 16mb of ram simm edo and a S3 Trio 64v+ graphic card: quite fast sistem in 1996 but sadly slow in 2003 when I've bought another one. This pc (powered later with a Voodoo Graphics Accelerator) allow me to play the best games ever. The same game that I hope to find here soon!

Greetings!

I am 37 year old male from Brazil.
I began gaming around 1985 after buying a copy of Computes Gazette which was a great computer magazine that focused on the Commodore 64 platform and featured a lot of game ads. So i bought a C64 and spent countless hours playing Bards Tale 3, Wasteland, Ultima 4 which were my favorite games back then.

It amazing to realize that in spite of having around 1 megabyte of data, they provided a huge world to explore with unsurpassed gameplay.

Today i enjoy playing The Witcher and more casual games like Zuma and Plant´s Vs Zombies.
I've been hanging around here a couple of months but I think I forgot to properly introduce myself. I should probably put this right since it seems that I'm here to stay.

I'm 22 years old.

I like point and click adventures (proper ones, none of this hidden object nonsense).

I started gaming in the mid '90s on an MS-DOS laptop that my parents were given by someone (the screen was broken so we had to use a CRT). Given that it was a laptop, it could only play games from 5-6 years prior and so my actual experiences were more in line with the late '80s. My first console (again in the mid '90s) was a Sega Master System, again outdated for the time I got it.
All of this has given me a healthy appreciation for old games and a general disinterest in graphics.

My all time favourite games are probably Riven, Grim Fandango, Earthbound and Zelda: Link's Awakening.

My main hobby (other than gaming) is playing music/home recording/sound engineering. Occasionally I combine the two and record game themes:

Super Mario Land (World 2)
Hello, 13 year old teenager here. It's amazing how I'm easily able to get in touch with some of the really great classics from a time where I knew nothing more than eating, sleeping and crying.
Hey hi,
a 30 years old guy here from France.

I'm actually a writer for a game blog (in French).

I'm really pleased to see a website like this.
Real games for real players are here !
I'm one of the older gamers (30+) and I recall fondly many of the classic titles on GOG. I'm glad the past 'GOG shutting down' thing was just a prank as my heart really sank when they played it! You guys are nuts, but that's OK.

Thanks for making available all these games (good games, great prices, no DRM!) - I hope you guys get many-many more!

Lastly, as a linux user, it would be immensely helpful when browsing for purchasing, to have a note (and maybe a link to the particular AppDB page) for which games run well on wine. I don't mind even if it needs tweaking.

The GOGmix by paldepind is a good start but it would be awesome if there was an icon or something on the game's page itself. Cheers!

Oh my! 698 days and I never said who I was? Shame on me!

Demographics:
45 years old, disabled USAF veteran (avionics technician), Professional student.
Started gaming with AD&D pnp in 1979, First computer was an Apple IIe

Presently playing on Dell Inspiron 580 (tower, i3, win7 -64, ati HD3650) - not the best, but not the worst, either. :)

Heard about GOG because of the Witcher, which I have completely enjoyed playing!
Lots of game here are on my list and have been for many years. I'm looking forward to making my list shorter. I mostly play RPGs.
Good day, fellow comrades!

I am a child of the -89's, who is ready to give a game of any genre a chance, but spends most of his game time on shooting games. FGOAT (Favorite Game Of All Time) is a tough battle between Broken Sword and Jagged Alliance 2.
