Greetings everyone. If you see Uruk and want to play a prank on him, bring a bucket of holy water (or loaded into a pressure washer for even more fun), he's allergic to the stuff.
So... looks like I finally decided to post...
Been lurking around here since the announcement of TW2 and joined shortly after to preorder it, but I never imagined I'd be posting here. My past experiences with forums... well, I'd rather not think about it ^^
However, the community here seems really nice so I figured I'd start contributing with some of my ramblings and my poor English writing skills ^^

I guess someone did that already. When was the last time you've seen Uruk?

Welcome, but don't worry. Your english will at least be better than most US citizens.
Hello.

I've been following this website for a while, marveling at the fantastic selection, Windows 7 compatibility, and great prices. With this recent sale I decided to finally join up.

I never got to experience most of these games firsthand, and a lot of them are before my time, even at my slightly advanced, slightly exaggerated age. I hope not to remind you, purely by my presence, that all of you are slowly, inexorably, traveling through time at a rate that makes you a year older every year, an unstoppable process that condemns us all to fading memories and wonderings of yesteryear and years before even then.

Regardless of that only slightly depressing thought, here I am!
Hi, Everyone. I'm Egger3rd on YouTube, and I make a lot of silly videos. I love adventure games and immersive games like Morrowind. If you know of any hilariously bad games though that I can spoof, let me know. I love it when games are that perfect blend of bad and charming.

Hi everybody,
I'm Michael a.k.a. TrollumThinks (but only on this forum)
I usually go by the name of Silent Winter, which is a translation of my Chinese name (with some artistic license). That username was taken here (so 'Hello Silent Winter', whoever you are :) )
No, I'm not Chinese but I do live here...well, obviously I live HERE (unless I'm on vacation, which I'm not) but 'here' is China.

'Trollum' username was also taken here ('Hello Trollum') so I went with TrollumThinks - the name of my critically acclaimed (by the few people who've read it) web-comic, check it out:
www.foolsisland.com/silentwinter/index.html
(artwork and layout improves over time - around episode 13/14 I got Comic Life, which helped a lot)

Been gaming since pong and space-invaders, had a BBC Micro B (Chuckie Egg and Joust), went onto the Amiga 500, then to console gaming on the playstation and ps2.

Favourite games are rpgs and point-&-click adventures but I'm also partial to a good racer (wipeout/gran turismo), Beat-em-up (SF2/Tekken), platformer (mario/tomb-raider) and others

I was happy to see Lure and BASS as freebies on here (though I've played them both recently on ScummVM) and I'm awed by the number of great games available here that I've never played but will.

Top of the (very long) wishlist for now are Baldur's Gate (1 & 2) and The Witcher. Might have to wait for Christmas and get family to sign up to GOG to gift them to me :)

Other hobbies include 3D-Art (I don't make most of the 3D-models myself but use a program called Daz Studio (www.daz3d.com) to build a scene/pose/light/etc and then render a pretty (or not so pretty) picture.
I used to do a lot of that to make my web comics but I've now got a 1-year old baby so he's keeping us busy ;)

That's enough about me for now...off to cause randomness in the forum
Hi everyone,
I'm Chris, or 7he ODdeST_1 (Call me ODdeST or ODd) I'm 18 and I'd say I've been a gamer since the start of 2000, though my games were limited to Worms and Spyro until I got an Xbox and Destroy all Humans/Halo: CE bundle and then I started getting various other games.
I didn't start seriously gaming on PC until a few years ago when I had a custom built PC made. My first games for that PC was Halo: CE so I could play Custom Edition and later Fallout 3 and The Orange Box (Which interestingly introduced me to both Steam and GfWL rather early and allowed me decide which I preferred).
Before getting a good PC I occasionally played Rollercoaster Tycoon and the first few Harry Potter games on my families shared PC (I'll take a third person action-adventure platformer over a third-person shooter any day :/ ).
As you can tell I'm no old-school gamer, however I have always preferred old school games, since often they did things first, and often got it right and there aren't many games coming out that I could say I'm super excited for. However I am a keen follower of the indie circuit.
Apologies if my intro is nothing but pointless hot air, why not add me on Steam: :D

Hi all, I am by no means new to GOG, but I figured its about time I said hello.
Hi,

I am new to both GOG and to PC Gaming. I have been a developer for nearly 10 years and mostly have used my PC for work type things, I'm also a writer and so have a tendency to think that when sat at my PC I should do something "productive". The InterPlay Staycation Promo sucked me in while I was just looking at the site a couple of weeks ago.

I always liked the idea of this site and now that I've joined I'm finding that it's actually a better thing than I even thought it would be when I read about the concept behind it and stuff.

I also haven't posted on a community forum seriously since about 2005 but this seems like a nice place so I thought I'd try to make the effort here.
I might have forgotten about this thread....

Hey all welcome to GOG

better late than never ;-D
Heh...I came on the boards to start a similar thread, having completely missed this one until now.

I'm an old school gamer. In the early 1990s, I co-sysopped a couple of BBS's before starting my own (which I still miss to this day). It was called The Gameroom, and only ran out of upstate NY on one line, but had a great following, due to over 100 door games in several different genres, with seperate ANSI menus for each section. I also had an adult door game section; maintaining id's and signatures was a bit of a pain though. I also had a 6-cd drive with over 4 gigs of files (which was HUGE back in the day). Just found a leftover disc the other day called "Games 1995" that has some great stuff one it (including a files of pre-release Doom screenshots that obviously did not make the original game. Cool.) The Gameroom ran for a couple of years, before the Internet came to town (which was actually my own fault, as I helped to bring it way up north. Go figure...guess I didn't think that one through very well).

I also collected systems and games from my childhood all the way until 2009 (until I had to move), with around 50 systems (some multiples) and over 3k cartridges.

I love stogies, pipes, and a good single malt scotch. I also like pina coladas and getting caught in the rain. Currently I'm rediscovering Eamon and Aardwolf.

Having a BLAST on GoG and, while I'd love to see my own favorites here, I can't knock what this amazing site and its staff do on a day-to-day basis. I'm also digging being with all of you, reminiscing about some GoT (Good Old Times).

Cheers to all of my friends, and friends to be. :)
