Not sure how it took me so long to find out about this site. Very impressed with the overall smooth design.
With DRM going wild the past 3+ years, this place is an oasis in the desert.
Nice to buy games that actually have a superior experience to the pirated versions.
Hi all, I'm Mark from Northern Ireland.
I discovered GOG about a year ago when I saw it mentioned on the Egosoft forums. I love the ethos behind the site, and find the community to be refreshingly good-natured.
I've been gaming since I was about 8 years old, starting with C64 -> Amiga -> PC, and am still playing some of those same games 22 years later. Games are a great way to relax and be entertained, and I'm grateful to GOG for the ability to replay some true classics that otherwise might have been left to the wayside due to the march of technology.
Hey all! My name is Matias, I'm down in Brisbane, Australia. Great site, actually heard it mentioned on Epic Warcry on GameTrailers.com and thought I'd check it out, pleasently surprised!!
So many great games, downloaded and played Beneath a Steel Sky from here was awesome! Cracks me up that i still have the boxed versions of quite a few games here!!
Check out Arcanum and Vampire: The masqurade, both great games!!
Guys, can you make this a sticky, please? :)
I love this site. Don't remember how I found it--but it changed my life. This is my story...
I love games, but don't have much time, so I slowly play through a significant backlog. A box of such backlogged games was stolen off the truck during a move last year. This really pissed me off. So, I started going to second hand stores to find replacements--this became very timeconsuming. I was spending more time looking for games than playing them. Now, with the help of GOG, I have replaced almost the entire box (still need Outcast, Throne of Bhal, Realms of the Haunting, and a few others).
Thank you, GOG!

Wow.. tough luck. I can imagine that stung quite badly. Glad you were able to find most games here on GOG! Welcome, and don't forget to vote on the wishlist for the games you'd really like to see here. I'd love to see Outcast here, I only got to play the demo way back :(

Outcast was awesome. It would be an automatic buy for me. One of the things I love most about games is their ability to create a totally new and fun space--like traveling, but cheaper and without the sunburn, and with more adventure and intrigue. Outcast had that in spades. I still have the manual, but the disks are gone. I also still have the Throne of Bhal manual.
By the way, if you like Outcast, you would probably like Omikron, another great game that would be a great addition here. I wouldn't buy it because I own it--it was one of the games in the box that did not get stolen.
GREETINGS !

I guess this is the best place to start posting. I've been registered here for a long time - since early beta I think, but the catalogue had mostly games which I already owned or didn't want to play - so I've never actually bought anything here.

I just checked it out though and the catalogue has grown a lot, especially some games which I've been wanting to play/play again for ages (Tex Murphy series, Sanitarium, and the Space/Kings Quest series to name a few.)

No doubt this site is going to become an addiction for me soon enough, I seem to be pretty good at finding new ways to spend money/time. Now I just need to choose what to buy first, and slot some time to play it, I already have a massive backlog of games oh god what am I doing.

Edited because the sentences weren't separated properly. THREE YEARS LATER dun dun dun.

Hey all, my name's Mullon. Found out about this place through Game Informer, thought I would check it out. Looks like the spiritual successor to Gametap, which is cool. Looking forward to playing games I haven't be able to access in a while.

I hope you guys get Grim Fandango soon, I still have never played it.

Hello everyone,
I just learned about this site a few days ago. Within minutes it became one of favorite sites, but now after three days, I think I hate it. I'm having a hard time practicing self-restraint. I'm pretty sure I could spend about $1000 in less than hour here. I'm trying to restrain myself, but there are so many games here that I've purchased retail copies of that either won't run at all on a modern system, or needs DOSBox and a clock cycle eater to get it run (usually fairly poorly). It's all too damn easy here - the one (financially) helpful part of this site is that I can't seem to be able to store my credit card info, so I have to type it in each time.
Anyway great site, great games, and I look forward to playing them for many years to come.
A few game suggestions:
-The Gold\Silver\any other box AD&D games. The Krynn series, the Pool of Radiance series, the Savage series, and any/all others. These were the first RPGs I ever played (along with Wizard's Crown) and remain in my top five favorite games of all time.
-Wizard's Crown and the sequel, The Eternal Dagger
-The Wizardry Series
-Elder Scrolls 1 & 2 - Arena & Daggerfall
-Baldur's Gate, Icewind Dale, Neverwinter Nights series (many are probably too recent...)
-Eye of the Beholder series (never played, but heard it was good)
Keep up the good work and good luck game hunting (it's fun game in itself)!
