I am MIke, and am 22 years old. I never owned a console until the late 90s (a Playstation), but was introduced to gaming when I was about 8, having a 486 gifted to me by an aunt. I discovered the likes of Doom, Commander Keen, and ultimately what sparked my love of gaming: Descent.
Thanks to this site I have been able to replay some beloved classics and finally play some I missed out on (cough, Fallout...OH HOW DID I LIVE ALL THIS TIME AND NOT PLAY IT, cough).
Looking forward to some great times both in the community and playing games bought from this site! It's great to inject a healthy dose of classic gaming into the modern gaming routine!
My name is Amitav and I am a fresh faced 31 year old male. I live in Hawai'i right now. My first system was the Colecovision, I owned 5 games including Jumpman Jr., Congo Bongo and War Room.
I never figured out how to play that last game.
Also, here is hoping good working versions of my Adventure Games of Yore are available!
Hi~ My name is Ashleigh and I'm a 23 year old working on my Masters in Japanese Linguistics (one day I will mold young minds.. scary :p!) at the University of Hawaii (undergrad at the University of Pittsburgh). I originally hail from the infamously un-famous state of Delaware where I've lived my entire life save for school.
I've been exposed to gaming as far back as I remember, my mom bought an NES when I was a toddler and my uncle was a huge nerd who was responsible for buying our first family SNES later on. Unfortunately I didn't get as much into PC gaming, but I'm looking forward to this site giving me a second chance to discover what so many people already have. I love shooters, action, adventure, strategy, RPG and all that, but I have to admit that, shamefully, above all else I am obsessed with Rock Band, I can't lie. I would love to get into table-top games, but since I just moved to Honolulu I don't know anyone yet that can show me the light. :[
Anyway aside from gaming, when I'm not swamped with classwork I enjoy yoga, hula, biking, watching baseball and of course shopping! Nice to meet all of you. :)
I'll add a lil history from myself.
Been gaming since the days of the Vic20/Intellivision gaming days. Yes, my young peers, that would be the very definition of OLD SCHOOL. Moved on the Commodore 64, 386, Sega Genesis, PS1, etc.
The very idea of the this site makes me pretty damn excited. I look forward to some Wing Commander/X-Wing games coming down the pipe (I hope) !
Hi - from England, 38, first started playing games on the good old ZX Spectrum.....
Always loved a good game, this site brings all the old memories back. Games today ARE good, but just seem to miss the little something the older games have to keep you going back for more.
Current faves from this site are the Descent series....oh, and I cant wait for Stonekeep to be available as well - had it years and years ago, but went and lost the disc...;o(
Hey,
I'm 25 from Portugal, been gaming for almos 20 years. First I was mainly a console guy (starting with a NES, then Gameboy, then SNES), and later (around '97, I guess), I got my first computer.
I love old games, and look forward to re-play some classics, and discover some "new" old games!
Hi there. My name is Pawel (born and raised in Poland). I'm 22 with 17 years experience in gaming. So far I had Atari 2600, NES, Mega Drive, PSX, PS2, PSP, NDS, C64, Amiga 1200, DC, PS3 and PC :).
Gaming is my passion and something that relax me when I need to chill out.
I'm very exited about gog.com and I hope it will give me opportunity to buy games that I couldn't get earlier.
My names danny and i run a game site at www.citizengame.co.uk
Though an avid console player now, i grew up on a strict diet of Amiga & PC Games. I cant wait for you guys to release Flashpoint for download :P
Allo Allo, hailing from the desert of Arizona, I go by the name of Armaina hee. I am of the female variety and am 23 years old, been into game geeze, I dunno how long.
I grew up watching my dad play video games when I was little at first, back when monitors had 2 tones, Doom and Doom 2 I think are some of my influential games as I had a love of many an FPS, however I tend to be more picky of that genre now. (though Doom and Doom 2 still hold a special place in my heart... and Doom 3 was a huge disappointment imo....)
I enjoy games ranging from, FPS to RPG, Action Adventure, RTS, Racing, Puzzle and the things in between. I enjoy console gaming and PC gaming equally as much, I believe both have their strongpoints in different ways.
There were a lot of games I was unable to play around the 90's mostly due to not having my own computer or the money to buy the games so a place like this is a treat for me to finally play games I had been hearing about (like fallout) or getting games I haven't been able to play in years (like Descent) Also the community here is a plus :D
Also... I <3 Monsters. The creepier the better!
Hello, I'm Fredrik. I'm 16 years old and from sweden. The first games I rememeber playing is Quake and Perfect dark on the Nintendo 64. I allso used to watch my dad play rivern and myst.
The game that really got me into gaming on a deeper level was Alpha centauri, the lenght of the game just amazed me. And I haven't found and other games like it other then maybe civ3.
As today I enjoy games with good stories and gameplay rather the stunning graffics, I play preety much any genre I can get my hands on. What got me to start searching for a old games site was when I lately found my old Alpha centauri disk (and Sacrifice disk) and really wanted to play alien crossfire.
P.S. Wtb Alien crossfire.

Hi, I am Emre from Turkey. I am 25 years old and playing computer games since Commodore 64. I don`t love consoles and playing the games on PC, don`t have a console too. I really like older games than today`s huge graphical soulless games. Old games have souls and more entertaining than today`s games.
My favourite old game is Duke Nukem 3D, System Shock and Thief Series.

Hi, I'm Greg from the USA--I'm in my late 30s and have been playing games since the original Pong console, graduating from there to a 2600, TI99/4a, C64, 286sx8, 386dx2, 486dx4, genesis, ps1, athlon, t-bird, xbox, wii, and my recently built quad-core intel something or other.
Some (but not nearly all) of my favorites over the years include Xcom, Civilization, Wing Commander, Half-Life, Spaceward Ho / Master of Orion, Privateer / Freelancer, Forza Motorsport / Gran Turismo, Neverwinter Nights, and who can forget M.U.L.E.!
Programmed some simple games as a kid on the TI99 and C64, and later on the various PCs, which eventually got me into the IT world. I'd love to get back into building games, but I find my interest turning these days more toward non-computer games. Go figure.
Hello, i'm Jamie and i'm 18 years old - from England.
I've been playing games pretty much all of my life, starting out playing on my dad's hand held space invaders that he had since he was young, and also his Commodore 64. Since then i've had many consoles, SNES, Sega Master system, mega drive, sega saturn, game boy, N64, Ps1, Ps2 etc etc.
However, for the past year or so i've just been playing CS:S and TF2 on the PC due to the lack of good quality games made these days and it is for this reason that i'm looking forward to seeing GOG grow in popularity.
Probably should've made this my first post.
My name's Gwilym, I'm 25 years old and I've been gaming since I was about three. I started off with an Acorn Electron, soon moved up to a BBC Micro and stuck with that until I was about ten. From then on it's been all PC (though I've picked up a few consoles over the past five years or so).
I'm happy to say that I'm one of the lucky people who's never become 'bored of games,' and I love pretty much all eras of gaming equally.
I'm also a musician, currently making a living as a soundtrack composer; creating music and sound for computer games, TV shows and other media. Probably not supposed to link to my website here, so I'll skip that bit.
Very excited to be a part of GOG. Aside from the service itself, I like how distinctive its userbase and community is already proving to be. For the site to have such a unique voice this early on is rather awesome.
My name's Danny (or Daniel or DJ or whatever you prefer). I'm 26 years old, living in South Africa. Been playing games pretty much forever, and I've worked my way up to writing them :) I'm a big fan of Looking Glass (R.I.P.) and Planet Moon, and an adversary of copy-protection and overzealous adherence to genres.
I've been wishing for something like GOG for a very long time, and I think that as the service grows it will change the way the industry thinks.
