Quick rule of thumb. If the key is in the format of XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX it will not expire. If it's in the format of XXXXXXXX then it does have an expiration date. First is a gift code, second is a bonus code.

The "game key" activates on Desura.. or at least mine did.
