amok: Cheers - downloading new version now

(though I am one of those who prefer the straight top-down angle. reminded me of a couple of Amiga games)
As it happens, players who prefer the traditional fully top-down approach, can use the Page Up button to adjust the view, and you can do it very easily while playing! ;) By the way, Anne's first gaming memories are also from a bunch of cool Amiga adventures.

lowyhong: Got a question for you Ville: what are the chances those who preorder will get a GOG code, supposing Driftmoon makes it here?
If it's in our power, of course! Just email us, and we'll gladly make it happen (unless we're denied to do so). If you're planning to possibly buy the game now through our site, remember to use that discount code from the demo. :)

The long, free demo is available for everyone to download through our site, and for our preorderers can play the adventure from start to finish!

Our never-expiring discount code will be available through the demo up until the end of this month. So if you don't have it yet, be sure to pick it up soon!

Ps. We should also have some other good news to share with you soon. But more about that later... :)
I really like that the updater is now asking whether I want to update now or later and I'm looking forward to seeing the new tilted view in action. =D Also hoping that you'll be able to give some GOG codes to the preorders.
A confirmed release date of 26th Feb on Desura and GoG too

Starting from release, Driftmoon will be available through an awesome gaming site called GOG.com! In accordance to the GOG.com principles, a copy of Driftmoon that you buy there will be completely DRM-free: You won't have to license the game, and you won't even have to enable our amazing mod-list unless you want to (but obviously we do recommend enabling the mod list, to get access to all our cool mods, and all the hundreds more to come). As an additional bonus, our composer Gareth Meek has agreed to provide 6 of his original compositions for all Driftmoon -buyers from GOG.com.

I remember reading about this some time ago now and thinking it looked very promising. I hope it all turns out well and that you get in contact with GOG so it can be sold here.

Are you doing a OS X version too by any chance? I hope so! ;-)

Oops, just saw the bit about it coming to GOG. Very nice. Checked out the site too. It looks great. I'm glad you added the tilted view. I hope GOG will package it up in WINE since it seems you indicate that works on the Web page. I would not purchase Crossover for one game. I hope you'll consider a better Mac solution than telling us to buy another product to run the game.

Actually Driftmoon can already run on the Mac with the use of "Play on Mac"

Thanks. I did read on the dev site it works with Crossover and for Linux with WINE. From that I concluded any form of WINE on Mac would do it. So I appreciate you mentioning this but...

The thing is, I do not want to do it. When I pay for a game, I want it done for me. With so many games to choose from now, I am just not willing to screw around - at all. I'd rather be playing something instead. I think it's worth sending a message to developers that if they want my business, the do-it-yourself approach to getting their product to work doesn't cut it.
Did some testing for this. The couple are truly awesome game makers and the cool thing about it is that almost any age can get into this game. I would say this is a good game for kids to play if they are interested in getting into the game industry.
Is there a release date for this yet?

Hi everyone! We're very excited about Driftmoon joining the excellent games selection here at GOG.com. Less than two weeks to go now... :)

We'd really like to give our players versions for Mac and Linux, maybe even some other platforms! If Driftmoon does well, we're definitely planning on porting, so it's really only a question of resources.

So far it's looking pretty good, so even thought we can't promise it with certainty yet, I'd say that there's a good chance that we'll be able to port Driftmoon for all of you. :)
