Ghost of a Tale, a gritty fantasy adventure about a little mouse facing big trouble, now in development, DRM-free on GOG.com with a 10% launch discount.

They say that history is written by the victors but sometimes the biggest truths are hidden behind a Ghost of a Tale. In this medieval world of animals, where the Mice have been marginalized by the vindictive Rats, Tilo's search for his beloved will accidentally throw him in harm's way. The little mouse minstrel is not much of a fighter, but cunning, guile, and nimbleness are forces to be reckoned with and Tilo wields them as expertly as he does his trusty lute.
Developers SeithCG are equally small in numbers and the community's input is helping them shape this endearing action/RPG into something truly special. The core stealth, exploration, and conversation mechanics are pretty much in place, but the flow of the story and exploration is still being tampered with by the team.
You can keep track of their progress through their official blog at ghostofatale.com.

Play your lute through the spooky halls of Dwindling Heights Keep as you struggle to escape your own Ghost of a Tale, DRM-free on GOG.com.
The 10% launch discount will last until August 1, 4:59 PM UTC.

Looks very interesting and unique, but I don't think my PC could handle it.
Will mark it for the future though, I really hope it gets made.
Looks amazing!!

That minimum required processor is a typo, for sure, right?

You say best enjoyed with a mouse but the requirements highly recommends a game pad.....
It says gamepad is ideal on the webpage as well, which is quite disappointing.
It would seem the game is targeted at the big mainstream, people who play everything with a controller and have big expensive rigs.

It's a shame, but what can you do. Well ... not buy the game I guess.

The developer needs financial support to continue his work.
I decided to support him.
I know I've been ninja'd about this, but...

Looks like this is the closest thing we'll ever get to a video game adaptation of Redwall.
OK Thanks for pointing this out. I hope a blue will correct this ;)

Aemenyn: Getting Redwall vibes from this.
Seems pretty promising.

Hey, I'm a fan. :P
Cool, another unfinished released game with a steep pricing scheme.

Watched a gameplay video of it, it's cute but... meh...

GOG.com: Best experienced with your mouse.
Looks at the game's requirements.

"A gamepad is highly recommended."

Ha ha ha, what a funny story, Mark.

This is a promising game. Wishlisted for now.
Giving away a free copy to further support development. PM me if you are really serious about trying the game, but can't afford it right now.

Edit: Gift taken

Well, I assume this is a typo of the dev/GOG.
The minimum requirments on GOG are the same as the recommended on Steam so I assume is a typo.

This is what is shown as Minimum on Steam

MINIMUM:
OS: Windows 7 32bit
Processor: Intel i5 - 2.5Ghz
Memory: 3 GB RAM
Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 660 (2GB) or AMD Radeon R9 270
DirectX: Version 11
Storage: 5 GB available space

Edit: Okay seems to be my cup of tea.. now to wait for times when my cup is full so I can have spare change for this one

I'm biting the bullet. While I appreciate the dev's honesty, the statements on his website that this represents only 25% of the intended game and that he has run out of money are concerning to say the least. On the other hand, this looks so charming that I simply can't resist. Besides, I can use something to cheer me up. If the in dev version manages to do that, then I guess I got my money's worth. ;)
Looks pretty promissing. I'm going to keep an eye out...
