HunchBluntley: snip
Other stores are lazy on these things. But GOG removes them within 30 seconds of a request. It's crazy how productive they can be sometimes. :P
Bad news for those who had it in their wishlist. I still fear that the same fate happens to The Void. It was removed from Steam some months ago and may disappear here as fast as the young sorcerer.
What? Another one?! Bummer!

Hey, thanks for the reminder! Just a few days ago I was thinking "Hmm, what was that GOG game where you supposedly have some woman you are supposed to feed or some other weird shit?". That was the game, The Void!

I guess I need to try it at some point. I have already bought it.

So something positive came out of this thread after all! :)

My pleasure. I'm waiting a good sale to buy it too, maybe during the upcoming Summer Sales. This game seems so intriguing !

I wouldn't worry as much about The Void going in the void here. The reason it was removed from Steam (and not from other stores), is because the developers had a dispute with the game's publisher there (ND Games) and so they asked Steam to remove the game from the catalog till the dispute was resolved. Here, the game comes from a different publisher, so there should be nothing to worry about... at least, in theory.

Thanks for the detailed explanation, but I will try to grab it asap. No game is safe from a insta-removal here ;)
Apologies that there was no heads up, the removal had to be effective immediately (as they so often are) so we couldn't prepare a nice goodbye promo or even give an advance warning.

As for details, there's not much – it was basically a rights issue, and the jury is still out on whether the game will make a comeback or not.

The problem just like last time is even if you guys can't give an advance warning it would be appreciated if you could at least create a thread like this one.

Just to say X game has been removed.

Noted, we'll do our best to give you a heads up on the forums even if its after the fact. Last week was... busy, to say the least. ;)

Alright, I'm sure it was a busy week. :P
kind of sad that it was gone just some days before the summer sale! just some days more and we would have a chance to get it discounted :(
Yeah, I am a bit worried by this recent trend. Luckily, I picked up Descent 1 + 2 before they were removed last year. Thus so far there is nothing on the removed list that I really want. I have lots of games to play so I try to wait for sales to buy games, but then I worry that some of these games get removed before ever going on sale. I stupidly didn't buy some games on my wishlist during the December 2014 winter sale where everything was on sale for 50% off and they haven't been on sale since. These make me think they will be the next games to get removed.

sunshinecorp: Maybe they're conducting a social experiment. "Will they miss a crappy game like this if it just disappears?"
Anyhow, the game is awful (not as awful as 3D as someone mentioned, but still crap) and it WON'T be missed by most, probably only by OCD completionists. The point is that it disappeared without warning, something that GOG avoids doing usually. In most cases, they give warning, and it's the right way to go. Just removing a game from the catalogue WITHOUT ANY WARNING WHATSOEVER just ain't right.
I hope not. I mean I don't want them to start doing this from now on, no matter how bad that game is.
