Hi, guys!

Following your many requests and in connection with preparing game libraries better for GOG Galaxy, we’re going to be starting what we’re calling unbundling games.

This means that multiple games that are bundled as one “product” (for instance: Tomb Raider 1+2+3) will no longer appear as one title on your game shelf, but rather - be split into individual items. This means more convenient downloads, smaller downloads if you just want to get one game, better representation of the games on your shelf, and being able to toggle installing and auto-updating titles from such a bundle in GOG Galaxy individually (should you decide use the client in the future once it's released).

Such bundles won't be unbundled in the store, so no price changes will happen - it's just a different way to display them on your shelf, which will make things easier for you and future software.

In the first "run" of such unbundlings - tomorrow - we'll take on two shelved items: Alien Breed + Tower Assault and American McGee's Grimm. Starting next Tuesday, we'll move on to unbundling all games in our library and this process will take a week. Before this process ends, you may still see some items on your shelf stay in bundles, but don't worry, their time will come as well and your game shelf will be neat once again. :)

If you have any questions, feel free to ask and we'll do our best to answer them. We’re also awaiting your feedback in terms of how unbundling went for your games - we’ll be following this thread, so keep us informed of any issues!

[EDIT] full list of games: HERE

I have a question. Does this include the tiny bundled DOS games, like Duke Nukem 1+2? That's only 19MB as it is.

EDIT: Also, when a game on our shelves is replaced by a set of 'unbundled' versions, will we get notifications?

Sounds good in general, but in cases like Grimm it could lead to a really cluttered shelf - will it be split into 23 episodes or just into seasons? Or did I misunderstand and it only means a single box cover on the shelf, but several different installers to download in the tabs below it?

Awesome, quick question, can we toggle this or is it fixed?
no you cant tomb raider 1 - 3 love being bundled together lara will cry if she split her up.
For games like the Gobliiins pack, how will they be broken up? Will each game be one entry, or will each version of each game become an entry? It sounds like it could get very messy for packs with several versions of the same game, or for packs with a lot of games like The Zork Anthology.
That's a cool idea but some of those games are not worth it with their tiny size.

Yeah, I already find it annoying that Cognition's four episodes appear separately...

Also, what about expansions? I'm thinking Medal of Honour: Allied Assault Warchest or Overlord+Raising Hell.

So that's why Tie Fighter 1994 and 1998 were added to my shelf as two individual titles? I was already wondering about that.

Will Alone in the Dark 2 and 3 also get individual "boxes" in the library or will they remain extras for the original Alone in the Dark? After all, they're technically not "bundled" together.
I hope this will only be for really seperate games. And not for DLCs and Addon stuff or episodes/seasons whatever. I have to agree that it is already annoying enough to have Cognition as four seperate games. So I hope this really remains for actually seperate games.

I think she would be fine being split into 3 parts for the love of convenience

Question about DLC, will it be separate from games as well as solo add on or will it still be in the main games folder?

Can we hope that it facilitates fixing the confusion with deluxe bundle component ownership?

I'm not exactly sure if I like it. Sounds good for some of the very big games (and it's already done with some games like Cognition where every episode has an own entry), but I'm not exactly sure if it makes sense for the old tiny Dos games.

And what does it mean for the DLCs? Will they get an own entry as well or will they stay with the base game (I like it the way it is)?

And very important: Can we be sure that you won't use the new system to regional lock certain content for certain countries (e.g. give just the censored version to German customers and hide the uncensored version)?

...but don't like to hang out with their expansion packs, apparently...
Sounds good to me (interestingly I just installed TR1-3 bundle), but as korell suggested you might not bother with bundles of really small games - Duke 1 & 2, Silent Service 1 & 2, etc - perhaps 100 megs or less? I dunno, perhaps I'm spoiled with really good internet.
