A free content pack for Imperator: Rome is now available on GOG.COM. The Punic Wars DLC contains features such as new Roman and Carthaginian Mission Packs, Numidian Unit Model and Carthaginian Ship Model. We will also get a chance to hear three additional music tracks.
Should call it the Apologetic DLC instead. =P
Who would have thought, a paradox dlc. Novel.

Edit: just read the reviews, it seems like dlc isn’t even the worst with this one.

Yep. They only released this free because Imperator Rome is still in a completely terrible state.

I experiences it much better than Stellaris at any time.
In my opinion it is not in a bad state, I enjoy it very much.

But I am not a die hard PDX fan, so I hadn't any expectations beforehand.

Sad to here that.
Knowing Paradox for very long time. And played EUIV, CKII, HOI4... for over 700 hours each, with and without DLC. This Free DLC adds almost nothing to the game.

It adds:

-skins for some units.
-20 buttons in the mission tree, that will give you a +1/2 here and there. (EUIV style)
-3 songs (this one worth it. good music is always welcome)

*Normally, they call those DLC "Immersion Pack" and sell those for $9.99.

Considering the fact that Paradox sells the music DLC's for CK2 for $3.99 and the combo unit skins pack for $18.99 (before they congealed them into one DLC they were $1.99 each). Paradox is not known for handouts to their playerbase.

Can't argue with that!

The only reason this DLC is free, it's cause they ruined the release of this game. Otherwise it would be around 10$.

Completely true. Also, they not only botched the release of this game, but they've made really questionable decisions with certain changes in patches and this patch is an epic disaster for many players. Tons of bugs and people are even having problems loading saves within 1.3's patch. "Quality Control" seems to be a foreign concept to Paradox devs.

Honestly, after this game was released, I played it a bit, and it was enough to know where this was going. Broken game, to be fixed as they add DLC for this new DLC platform. That's it.

One of the problem, is the fanbase witch defend Paradox all the time, everywhere. And if you got something bad to say about their game, you're insulted and later banned. On their forum(paradoxplaza) and even on steam forums since 2 years now. And there's nothing one can do about that.

So, I no longer buy their games, I pirate them, and even that I do when I know the game is of relatively stable version.

Paradox used to be a wonderful company. I buy and support and play their games since the old Knights of Honor. But Paradox of late, are nothing more then a bunch of greedy scumbags.

Everything they release today, it's all based on the same money-making-model. There's no more love in making games, there's only love in making profit. Sad, but true! :(
always happy to get more music

I couldn't agree any more to what you said. Paradox has slid far from their origins.

I remember they used to champion DRM-free back in the early days. That was then. Now their DLCs all require Steam to run. Now any and every company, corporate greed starts to dictate everything. Luckily they're still considered a lesser evil compared to many of the other giant companies.

Hmm, I don't know about that. I'd say they are evil enough today. It may not appear so, they are pretty slick after all.

I remember back 2-3 years ago, when they just like that , out of nowhere, raised the price for all their games, new and old. Even for the 4-5 years old games and DLC. And made sure their sales never went over 50% off. Until people went nuts, and they had to change the prices back to the original.

I'd say that's pretty freaking evil, if you ask me.
