lostwolfe: yeah. king's quest can be a little dire about that kind of thing. you can get through - in some cases - nearly the whole game and then - at the end - discover that you missed something and it will kill you.

one prime example: if you don't get all set up for the end game in king's quest ii, then you'll be stranded in a fantastic alternate universe, but die because you didn't pick up a hunk of meat /way/ back when somewhere near the middle of the game.
avatar
P1na: And can you go back and get it then?
not to my recollection. the portal you opened to come to the special purple-sky land vanishes the minute you step through it, so unless you're completely prepared, you're now screwed/stranded.

That does suck pretty bad.

pretty much. so, in that case, if someone's at least curious about re-experiencing those games without the silly frustration, one way of doing so is to watch them in a play through of the sort that i do.

Yeah, that does sound reasonable. I'd probably play as much as I could, do a google search if I feel I'm blocked, and only resort to your LP as a last resort if I don't have any other way of moving forward. That's just me, though, I know there's people with other priorities out there.

and that's awesome :) - my take on it is that everyone plays games a little differently when it comes to puzzles and the like. what works for one person is certainly not going to work for another.
for today, we look at hearthstone a little more.

i dissect the concept of quests as well as how to use various parts of the deck builder so that we can build a free druid and free hunter deck.

i then go out and use these in play mode to finish off quests.

enjoy :)

it's time for more police quest two:

we warn colby that bains is in his area, then call the steelton police to help them set up a way to watch colby in case bains does anything remotely terrible. these chores out of the way, we follow bains to steelton. maybe we can catch him there.

of course, nothing goes according to plan, and the plane trip is...a bit weird. as the song goes in hoodwinked! "i was not prepared."

Thanks for doing this, I've been enjoying it a whole lot! :D

Since I was always more of a LucasArts kid, many of the Sierra classics passed me by (with the notable exception of the Gabriel Knight series), and it's really nice to be able to experience these games I missed without all of the frustrations of having to go through them myself. Which I still plan on eventually doing, though.

no problem. in a way, i kind of wish sierra had been saved by lucasarts in the sense that i think lucasart's design sensibilities were so much more on track and less player hostile.

of course, it wouldn't have given us all those fantastic and sometimes hilarious death animations.

thankyou so much for watching - and when you get around to the sierra games, i hope you enjoy them as much as those of us who loved the sierra games out the gate did.

i have a certain fondness for the lucasarts games - they always seemed more polished to me, but i loved the sierra games for their "family" feel. the sierra teams always just felt like little families to me, whereas i never felt that kind of "spirit" from the lucasarts games.

This may explain the violence and gore. :D

Just subscribed to your channel, ideal for looking up a hint on how to achieve something in one of Sierras quest games if I get stuck, easier to watch what to do than dig through a text play guide!
