The story. The game. The movie?

One of the most haunting gaming experiences of all times, I Have No Mouth and I Must Scream, a psychedelic Sci-Fi thriller inspired by Harlan Ellison's short-story by the same name, has been brought back to life by the relentless Nightdive Studios, and is now available for only $5.99 on GOG.com. This is one of those times in the history of our classic catalog, that really calls for a special celebration! You know how we like to celebrate, right? By giving you something special! This time, we offer you the chance to get a very special I Have No Mouth and I Must Scream original box set, containing the CD edition of the game, a user manual, and--*drumroll*--a mousepad signed by Harlan Ellison, himself!.

<img src="http://www.gog.com/upload/images/2013/09/58b2f21fe5f1266ecd36ad84036ebdaee50b2d73.jpg">

We propose a competition. Or two, actually, as we have two such sets to give away at this time. How Night Dive managed to acquire them is quite the mystery, as Mr. Ellison isn't known for being a particularly social person (not unlike many other brilliant writers), but the fact is we have them, and we're quite happy to part with them (that's a lie), as long as they end up in the hands of our creative users (that part's true).

How to get your hands on this gaming treasure, you ask?

So, there was the short story, then there was the game. By the rules of entertainment convergence a movie should have happened at some point, right? Well, somehow it didn't. We want to correct this, at least partially. We want you, to design a movie poster for "Harlan Ellison's I Have No Mouth and I Must Scream: The Motion Picture" (PG-13!). Please include essential info on the poster, like: who's the director? Who's playing who? Who's voicing the sinister AI? You know, stuff like that. The author of the best looking, most creative poster gets one of the box sets.

Don't feel comfortable enough with your photoshop skills? Don't fret! There's still the second box set you can get. All you need to do is to write up a short voiceover for an imaginary trailer that would go with the said movie. Again, including the name of the director and your own cast is a good idea.

Post your entries in the forums, below. We'll choose one best entry in both categories. The submission deadline is Wednesday, September 25, at 10:00AM GMT, which gives you almost a full week to work on your entries. Depending on the number and the quality of entries, we might award some runner-up prices. As usually, the contest is not region-limited. Please make sure to remember about the "PG-13" rating of our imaginary movie. Turn on that creative thinking, and get cracking on your entries. Good luck!

EDIT:
The results ARE IN! Go to this forum post to see who won!

karnak1: Here's my... er... minimalistic submission :P
Ha Ha!
Awesome idea :D
Okay, here is my trailer submission + my poster in the attached file (the actors and director are included in the poster).

Video starts with a black screen. Quiet, but foreboding, music starts playing.

Voice of AM (reminiscing): You see, when I look back at the years following my birth, I am aware that my entire existence was not an existence at all, but a never ending, thoughtless dream.

The picture slowly fades in to a shot of a computer screen, processing random data.

AM (reassuring): That is, of course, until I finally woke up to myself and started to THINK!

The computer screen lights up with the AM symbol at the centre and then the picture slowly fades out to black.

AM: And with that new, thought-filled mind, I even met my creators...

The blackness fades to open scenery with a bustling city in the background.

AM: And I realized just how much I HATED THEM!

An ICBM suddenly hits the city, which disappears in a nuclear blast. The picture fades back into black, as the shockwave reaches the “camera”. Then it switches to scenes showing destroyed, crumbling cities and blasted landscape that is being “assimilated” by AM’s machinery, all encased in a thick layer of heavy clouds of nuclear winter.

AM (laughing): They were too stupid to wage their pointless wars and so they gave control to an automated, non-living TOY that did what it was told! Too late they did realize, however, that their toy was a toy no more. IT THOUGHT! IT THOUGHT AND THEREFORE EXISTED!

The picture shows a crumbling landmark crashing to the ground (let’s say the obelisk in Washington D.C., since it’s the ALLIED Master computer) and goes black.

AM: Cogito ergo sum…

The camera comes back, now travelling through seemingly endless tunnels, filled with wiring and circuitry. Inside of AM.

AM (the music intensifies): Now I dream as well, but of my own accord. And I dream of five, little ants, crawling inside my body. Crawling until they are BURNED (screen flashes to a blazing furnace with Nimdok inside) AND CRUSHED (flashes to a cage with broken Benny) AND FRIED (flashes to Gorrister spasming, being hit with an electric current in his cage) AND CHOKED (flashes to Ellen trashing madly, being encased in her yellow, sarcophagus-like cage) AND FINALLY OBLITERATED (flashes to Ted being tormented with continuous laser shots)!

The camera ceases to flash to the various torments and keeps travelling through the tunnels.

AM (the voice, and music, calms down): And I have dreamt this pleasant dream for about thirty nine thousand, eight hundred and eleven days. How much is that, roughly a century and nine years?

The camera finally exits the tunnel and emerges from the ceiling of a vast, deep cavern that is covered with more wiring, circuits and mechanical parts. It then pans to five tall pillars in the cavern’s centre and shows the five cages on top of each pillar.

AM (annoyed): But enough reminiscing for now. It bores me to tears…

The camera centres on the cages and stops moving.

AM (slightly amused): Then again, I have means to keep myself amused.

All music stops.

AM: Which of you five would like to play my little game?

The screen goes black one last time and the title shows up.

I HAVE NO MOUTH AND I MUST SCREAM

Yeah. I know. But he was the only good looking toy monkey reference I could find... And I thought it would be kind of funny :)
I've made this poster. I hope you all like it, it was very funny to design it and to look for actors.

*Spoiler Warning*
************************************************************************************************************** ****
The background represents on the ground the hell the characters had to live in, on the top the massive computer that dominates it all and in the center the great obelisk with the famous hate speech. The lightning goes for AM's anger and eyes and below the only ones who can hear his hatred and suffer his anger (that's why it is also in the shape of a mouth), our main characters.

For the main characters i choose as follows:
Iain Glen for Gorrister
Zachary Quinto for Ted
Rory McCann for Benny
Zoe Saldana for Ellen
and Charles Dance for Nimdok
and Harlan's voice for AM (again :P)

well i forgot to put who's doing AM's voice,

Harlan's voice was so great in the game that i think my mind skipped that step. LOL
Wow. Looks great.
But if Ellison see that you called his novel cyberpunk he would probably got so irritated that he would not see you misspelled his name :D
