GOG is still not wanting Humongous?

ShadowWulfe: GOG is still not wanting Humongous?
Tommo/Retroism, Night Dive, and GOG still not able to come to a pricing agreement (I imagine).

tfishell:
Night Dive is pushing for regional pricing or something?

I just wonder what the story is behind NAM not coming here.

pezhead53: For the next 24 hours, the Humongous games are on a Humble Flash Bundle!

..snip..

$20 for the Complete Pack is an absolute steal (less than $1 per game!) and they are all available DRM-Free!
avatar
the.kuribo: I'm pretty bummed I missed out on this. I just got a sampler pack from BundleStars for $3.99, but sadly only Steam keys.

Are any Humongous games still available DRM-Free anywhere? GOG, if you are listening and have a change of heart...
I believe buying them digitally from Amazon nets you a DRM-Free copy. Also I know it's not ideal, but once you download the games from Steam they have no other DRM on them and you can use them as you wish.

Good to know, thanks for the info! I forgot that some Steam titles can actually be played standalone and basically be used DRM-Free -- although does anyone know if this is technically breach of license/TOS? I think the current BundleStars bundle should tide me over for now, so if they do make their way over here in the coming years I'd still much rather support GOG and the DRM-Free initiative.

Officially, there is no word about that from Valve/Steam. Some publishers, like Paradox, do encourage it, though.

That's quite interesting with respect to publishers endorsing the practice. I'll have to find that DRM-Free Steam list that's floating around here in these forums and give it another look over.
I would like to buy the series,
so please add them.
Thank you GOG.
It seems that Evergreen Group's finally doing something with Backyard Sports! ...It's mobile apps, but at least it's something.

This may be a great opportunity to let them know that we'd love to see the older games come to GOG.com.

For those interested, sometime next week a friend of mine - who afaik has never played the Humongous games before - will be streaming Pajama Sam 1 on Twitch. (I gave him my unused Steam key.)

I'll try to remember to post the time for that when he decides.

As a small piece of news, when I asked on the Backyard Sports Facebook page if they'd consider releasing the older games on Steam or GOG, they responded with "Stay Tuned :)" I know it's far from a confirmation, but it's nice to see they at least know the demand is there.
Update

For those interested, next Monday at 6 pm a friend of mine - who afaik has never played the Humongous games before - will be streaming Pajama Sam 1 on Twitch. (I gave him my unused Steam key.)
