As some kind of "novelty", the Humble Bundle has started a new format with the Humble Monthly Bundle which is the equivalent of a digital Lootcrate....

So you subscribe for 12$/month and you'll receive some "surprise" digital games (mostly on Steam):

https://www.humblebundle.com/monthly

EDIT: if you prefer physical stuff for a "real" plus-value, let's rememeber that the monthly Indiebox exists:

You also get a non-surprise game instantly (currently, Legend of Grimrock 2).

According to an IGN news article, when you subscribe you automatically receive Legend of Grimrock 2.

Each month will include:

1 "hot title" game that's less than a year old
1 "highly-acclaimed" game that's one to two years old.
1-2 hit indie games
1-2 "hidden gems" from developers

Personally, I can't really say a blind purchase like this interests me at all. I have to pick and choose most Humble offerings because I own so many games on Steam from their previous bundles in the past. I don't have a whole lot of confidence that I wouldn't get a ton of duplicates from the Monthly bundle.

Unless these bundles are full of brand new releases, I doubt it's worth it to buy the pig in the poke at that price, but thanks for the heads up!
That's desperate.
Too bad they don't say if they're DRM-Free or any specific details on the release platform(s) or amount of games. Sounds like a crappy deal to me :\

I think it's only for the launching, after that it's full mystery....
I don't really want to pay 12$ for games I know nothing about...... =/
That's way to much for a pig in a poke :(

I mean..... they can send me an amazing shooter bundle. Too bad I hate shooters.

And if it's a "little bit of everything" type of bundle, then chances are very good that I will only be intrested in 1 or 2 of them, which would have been cheaper to just buy seperately =/

From the IGN article:

"At launch, all games in the monthly bundle will include Steam codes. However, in the future, some games will be DRM-free and may not be on Steam, or may appear on other platforms.

The one constant is that all games will be playable on Windows PCs," Bowling added, "but as with all Humble products, we focus on supporting as many platforms as possible."

12$ per month and that too for 1 surprise game?
No thanks.
I don't want Humble "Pinata" Bundle and that too without any refunds.
Atm they are giving 6$ on sale game for 12$ subscription!

Seems like a very bad idea.

Mystery games for $12/month
90%+ they are steam only
No thanks... i like to know what i'm getting and if it's DRM-free or not as i refuse to use steam, Uplay or Origin...
This seems like a poor idea given that most Humble Bundles have sure fire known games for less than $12 per week; it's taking a step backwards - invisible titles, Steam primarily, and higher than average base price for similar 4-5 game content.

It'll probably be a good idea to subscribe for the first month if you can tolerate Steam because Humble will need to really nail the first month for there to be any momentum on this.

Thanks for the info
Eh, looking at the FAQ it's reminding me of PS+ that Sony has on PS3/Vita: an optional service that gives you select games each month and a few other bonuses if you subscribe, only difference is that you keep the games even if you unsubscribe. Thanks, but I'll just buy the games instead if interested in them.

Maybe there will be an instant unlock for each monthly bundle? At least, that's the impression I'm being given. It's easier to convince someone to drop their money on an unknown bundle by offering them a taste than having them jump completely blindly into it.
