Just curious. I have been playing KOTOR 2 (with patch) and so far it feels very different compared to the first game. For one the Dialoge text is alot more deeper. More options to say. Your friends have approval statistics, etc. Customization is alot more deeper. And so far the tone is more darker. It certainly does not feel Bioware-ish thats for sure.

So curious how would they make a Mass Effect and Dragon Age game?

Also rules: For Dragon Age it has to be using the Dragon Age Origins gameplay. How do you think they make their own DA:O style game?

Mass Effect? Hmm Mabye consider how they make thier using the gameplay of Mass Effect 1?

Badly I'd assume. Bugs glitches and errors.

They already made a Mass Effect game. It's called Alpha Protocol, and like pretty much all their games, it was buggy on release, has been mostly fixed, and generally gets either very good reviews, or very bad ones. Not a lot of middle ground.

But, seriously, they obviously wouldn't make a ME or DA game since those IPs are wound up tight. Be glad for PoE, which is a good game, and KOTOR 2, and NWN2, and FO3-2 (New Vegas, you know what I mean).

The only reason they get glowing reviews is that the company has a very dedicated crowd who defends anything they release. God only knows why.

..because people like their games? Was that a tough one for you? You thought for a moment, perhaps, that you not liking something made it bad? Delightful.

No, they definitely have a strange dedicated group of fans that would like anything.

As, I assume, most publishers do. I didn't much like Alpha Protocol; only got maybe an hour or so into it. Didn't even play Dungeon Siege 3. I'm not a very good fanboy.

That said, their KOTOR and NWN offerings were - once the bugs were squashed, which took a while - absolutely better RPGs than the games they followed . Obsidian has a pretty good grasp of how to make story-driven RPGs. They don't do so well with the QA, which is a shame; most of their games are good enough to deserve a fair shake. Maybe all.

And at least they haven't - yet? - put out a game so bad they had to stop selling it and offer refunds! XD Poor Batman.

I think the guys should design them and not build them. They always seem to have fantastic idea but are awful at making the game themselves. It is kind of a shame really haha.

So does every entity (studio/actor/band/etc) in the entertainment business with even the slightest inkling of name value? But I don't see you calling out anybody other than Obsidian every chance you get.

On topic: It would probably be well written and solid all around, but buggy. That's what I've come to expect from them. I'm sure it would still be less cringeworthy than the average Bioware output though.

I believe this conversation already concluded.
