Looks really good, but unfortunately its developed and published by Gearbox Software so I highly doubt that it will show up on GOG. It also includes the original classic versions as a bonus apparently made compatible to run on modern systems as well.

l0rdtr3k:
No Gearbox is not "under" Sega.
Gearbox is independent? Didn't knew that, always thought that they were bought by Sega.
Don't know why.

Damn shame about no GOG, apparently; I assume Gearbox chose to integrate Steam's capabilities (multiplayer, workshop, etc.) quite a bit. In any case I'll provide some contact info below:

Assuming Gearbox doesn't want to bother integrating the games with GOG Galaxy, I wonder if the remastered originals could appear here separately.
I keep saying: We got System Shock 2. We're able to get them.

Yes, Homeworld really needs to be on GOG!
I would really love to see the Remastered Collection on GOG or at least the classic versions, they would be great laptop games. I'm going to wait till the last moment before I pre-order from Steam just in case they appear on GOG catalogue too.

Whatever you would call the originals that Gearbox reworked to make run on modern machines.

The reason I'm asking is because the Homeworld Remastered 1+2 bundle will contain both the remastered and the classic unaltered versions.

But I thought "unaltered" versions had been altered to at least run on modern machines. I figured perhaps, if those versions are not integrated into Steam, perhaps there's a better chance of seeing them appear in their own bundle on GOG, a little cheaper than the Remastered+originals on Steam.

OK, reading the collection's description, it seems like you're correct.

"As a free bonus, this collection also includes original, non-remastered versions of Homeworld Classic and Homeworld 2 Classic, preserving the purest form of the original releases with compatibility for modern operating systems."

Still, nobody knows if Gearbox will want to sign a deal for here.
So uh...last time Gearbox got their hands on someone else's IP, it ended in Duke Nukem Forever and Aliens: Colonial Marines. Duke Nukem Forever even had glitchy aiming mechanics, which took talent to happen because the Unreal Engine is made for shooters. It was a game that felt like they took a few levels from what was there and slapped them together, calling it a day at the end.

I'll be in the skeptical camp if anyone needs me.
