Today we’re starting our holiday celebrations as promised with a 48 hour sale of The Witcher 2 for just $23.99--with The Witcher: Enhanced Edition for free! Celebrate the holidays by giving that special someone in your gaming life over a hundred hours of nonlinear mature RPG goodness, filled with intricate plots, beautiful visuals, and intense action, or pick it up for yourself if you haven’t yet.

This is the best price we’ve had on the Witcher franchise so far--and a better price than we’ll have on these two games when the holiday sale proper starts on Monday--so there’s never been a better time to get these awesome games from our sister company CD Projekt RED.

UPDATE: If you want to gift The Witcher 2 + the free Witcher: Enhanced Edition, be sure to add The Witcher 2 AND The Witcher: EE to your cart (The Witcher: EE will be for free then) after that check-out while selecting to gift this order.

If you’re not familiar with the Witcher games, here’s the skinny on them: you play as Geralt of Rivia, a monster slayer with superhuman abilities called a Witcher. In The Witcher: Enhanced Edition, you are suffering from amnesia and remember nothing of your past. Kaer Morhen, the last remaining keep of the witchers, was attacked by a mysterious organization, and though you and your allies fought off the invasion, the secret recipe for the mutagen, a substance required to create more of your kind, has been stolen. It is up to you and your friends to explore the mysteries of the world of The Witcher: Enhanced Edition and punish those responsible. Before long you will find yourself swept up in a giant cataclysm that will wrack the Kingdom of Temeria, upsetting everything in its wake.

The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings takes place several months after the first game in the series. Geralt became one of the central figures of political turmoil in the Kingdom of Temeria. Geralt continues to protect the king in the his mission to bring peace to the country. The last bastions of the Order of the Rose have yielded to the royal army and the only remaining task is to pacify the rebellious castle of Baroness La Valette. This will not be as easy at it may sound, however, and you will soon find yourself fighting for your life to protect everything that you hold dear.

This sale will be running from now until 10 December at 10:59 GMT, and then once that’s ended we’ll be starting our crazy blizzard of holiday bonus codes. If you haven’t picked up these award-winning RPGs yet, don’t wait any longer!

UPDATE: If you already have The Witcher 1: Enhanced Edition, please contact support to get a giftable code for The Witcher 1: Enhanced Edition when buying The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings in this promo.
*Thumbs up*
Just bought it!

Im one of those "non-smart" people who hadn't bought it before, mainly cos my computer isn't up to playing it yet. But at this price its a bargain - instant buy.

Thanks GOG
Tempting, but I'm waiting for the Console version. I have the first game already and I have a huge backlog here. I'm sure I'm in the minority here, but I prefer playing current gen games on consoles.

It makes sense if you don't have a current gen PC. It's a demanding game.
Should I buy W2 for the sixth time... hmm...

decisions, decisions...
I really want to but:

1. Money is tight
2. Saving what little I do have for other games on the holiday sale
3. My PC is a underpowered POS (one reason I like GOG so much)
4. My hard drive would choke on the 16GB install anyways
5. I really don't see a PC upgrade for me in the near future
6. I already have the 1st game on DVD, which has an official patch to play without the disc
7. My backlog is probably scarier than most people here complaining about their backlog

Here's hoping they have a 50% off sale for Witcher 2 some time in the distant future.

This really is an awesome great deal though.
Money, money, money, without you it's no funny...

Wow! Just wow. You really enjoy it to spread it around as much as you have. I'm sure that those who have received it from you as a gift have really enjoyed it. Big thumbs up to you!
Great deal for anyone still on the fence as to whether to buy.
This reminds me. I really must complete the Witcher 2 before the years end.
I love GOG. :) I did the pre-order but wasn't able to finalize when it came out. Now I get it for a great price, and they are willing to let me gift the first game since I already bought it? :)

This will be my third copy of Witcher EE, once at retail, once here, and again here. Since I am doing the secret Santa thing, this would make a nice option if I get someone that has it on their list!

Much love GOG! Happy Holidays and I look forward to years of gaming goodness with you!
I like to get The Witcher 2 but I don't think my computer is up to it, my CPU is below the minimum specs. I guess I'll have to wait until I upgrade my computer before buying.
And where's the latest update ?
If you already own both games on GOG you will receive ......
:p
Crap I forgot to check the Gift option when checking out, so I have no extra Twitcher 1 gift code. What do I do?

-edit- I am of course assuming that the "contact support" option is supposed to be done before I buyt he game, but in any case I have contacted support too.

-edit 2- I clicked "Send" and it doesn't even confirm whether I have sent the message or not. It just takes me back to the Support page. Is there supposed to be a confirmation at all?

Cool sale, but not my thing and will wait till EA games go on promo.
YAY!! The holiday celebrations are here! There isn't a better flag bearer than these two games. Easily a couple of my all time favourite RPG's.

Happy gaming to all, and to all a good game!
