Today we’re starting our holiday celebrations as promised with a 48 hour sale of The Witcher 2 for just $23.99--with The Witcher: Enhanced Edition for free! Celebrate the holidays by giving that special someone in your gaming life over a hundred hours of nonlinear mature RPG goodness, filled with intricate plots, beautiful visuals, and intense action, or pick it up for yourself if you haven’t yet.

This is the best price we’ve had on the Witcher franchise so far--and a better price than we’ll have on these two games when the holiday sale proper starts on Monday--so there’s never been a better time to get these awesome games from our sister company CD Projekt RED.

UPDATE: If you want to gift The Witcher 2 + the free Witcher: Enhanced Edition, be sure to add The Witcher 2 AND The Witcher: EE to your cart (The Witcher: EE will be for free then) after that check-out while selecting to gift this order.

If you’re not familiar with the Witcher games, here’s the skinny on them: you play as Geralt of Rivia, a monster slayer with superhuman abilities called a Witcher. In The Witcher: Enhanced Edition, you are suffering from amnesia and remember nothing of your past. Kaer Morhen, the last remaining keep of the witchers, was attacked by a mysterious organization, and though you and your allies fought off the invasion, the secret recipe for the mutagen, a substance required to create more of your kind, has been stolen. It is up to you and your friends to explore the mysteries of the world of The Witcher: Enhanced Edition and punish those responsible. Before long you will find yourself swept up in a giant cataclysm that will wrack the Kingdom of Temeria, upsetting everything in its wake.

The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings takes place several months after the first game in the series. Geralt became one of the central figures of political turmoil in the Kingdom of Temeria. Geralt continues to protect the king in the his mission to bring peace to the country. The last bastions of the Order of the Rose have yielded to the royal army and the only remaining task is to pacify the rebellious castle of Baroness La Valette. This will not be as easy at it may sound, however, and you will soon find yourself fighting for your life to protect everything that you hold dear.

This sale will be running from now until 10 December at 10:59 GMT, and then once that’s ended we’ll be starting our crazy blizzard of holiday bonus codes. If you haven’t picked up these award-winning RPGs yet, don’t wait any longer!

UPDATE: If you already have The Witcher 1: Enhanced Edition, please contact support to get a giftable code for The Witcher 1: Enhanced Edition when buying The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings in this promo.

Barefoot_Monkey: I think you can buy the entire thing as a gift and redeem the code yourself to get Witcher 2, and then code will still be good for the first game because you already had it when you redeemed it the first time.

Can someone confirm this?
It could be also that you buying W2 only and W1 is just added to the account of buyer.

And if we already have The Witcher 2 and not The Witcher 1?
For people who didn't see the update:

I don't know if the store let's you buy this double-pack if you already own The Witcher 1, but you can only buy it as a gift if The Witcher 2 is already on your game shelf.

dashnc: What is with the people who got the first part already in their library? I assume: bad luck? ;)
There are two ways to deal with it.
One is a bit easier, but takes a bit more time - contact Support. If you purchase TW2 during the promo, and already have TW1, we'll hook you up with a code to make things right.
The other is quicker, but more convoluted. If you already have TW1, you can only buy both games as a gift. So, if you add both TW1 and TW2 to your cart, then buy them as a gift, and then redeem the code yourself, you will end up with The Witcher 2 on your own account, and the gift code will still have The Witcher 1 in it. :) Easy-peasy, right? ;)
I wish someone would gift me Witcher 1 ;-)
Shit, this is dirt-cheap.
Hiya, please check the news post for updates on the The Witcher 2 promo ;) If anything is still unclear, please contact Support.

An amazing deal that should not be missed.

timppu: Not to mention those of us who already have both games. What's the incentive for us to buy the promo, huh?
Gifting someone both games for cheap? ;) If you're interested, just make sure you've got both games in your cart - TW1 will be free in that order, and TW2 will be available at the promo's regular discount.

It's doable. Check out the updates in the news article, or my earlier posts.

Damn shame I didn't wait. I have the witcher 2 from when it first came out but my PC just is not quite up to the task. When I have more funds I'll upgrade. If I had of waited I would have had it cheaper and would have set my location and had the international version and not the Australian version.

Hopefully I'll find a "download" for the latest patched version of the international version one of these days. Probably just one setup archive that needs to be swapped out to make my version international (like with the initial release).

Never the less this is a very good price for those who don't have it already.
Dang that is only ~£15. Have to almost chip in now

Confirmed. Not the most elegant way, but it works. Unfortunately we can't create mixed orders (part gift, part regular), so it's either this or just buying TW2 and contacting Support for a TW1 bonus code.

So... will we be able also to gift Empire Earth when it will be for free?
