I don't see the big deal. This kind of stuff happens on the internet every day. I think you are overreacting. I would only take it seriously if the person who threatened you lives near you.

You missed the point. It's about the right to not be annoyed. Starmaker made that clear I think.
Besides, the whole 'it wouldn't annoy me, why would it annoy you ?' is a selfish argument. That's something I often say : you can't dispute what offend/annoy other people, that's their prerogative. There is nothing bad in being 'thin skinned' either.
People are entitled to some degree of respect, even if most of them don't care.
For more 'it happens everyday' doesn't make it a good thing at all, or something that shouldn't be dealt with.
