Can anyone tell me what the screen height of a 27 inch monitor (16:9) is from the top to the bottom?

I am trying to figure out if my 24 inch 1920x1200 monitor (16:10) has a higher screen height than a 27 inch 1920x1080 monitor (16:9). As far as I can tell my 24 inch monitor is 12 and 3/4 inches in height.

Any particular brand? You can likely find out by looking at the monitor specs on any site that sells them.
*edit* I just took a quick peek at a few and it seems they're ranging from around 16 to 18 inches in height.

As far as I can see they don't specify the screen height in the specs, only the diagonal screen size (27 inch).

Is someone able to measure their 27 inch screen height with a ruler and post it for me? Any brand will do.

16 to 18 inches sounds like total height for the entire monitor, not the screen.

Try Here. Just scroll down and it's listed in the 'features' section. This one is 17.7" in height.
The specs for the monitor heights on these websites will only give the total height of the monitor, which will vary from brand to brand. I am specifically looking for the visible screen display height on a 27 inch monitor.

You can find the formulas you need here:

I'd do the math for you, but I don't have a calculator with sqrt function on me. :(
Edit: doing the math quickly, I'd say the 27 inch monitor is about a half inch higher.

My Samsung is 15 inches (just over 18 including stand) if that helps.
Someone out there must have a 27 inch monitor and a ruler ... I'm not good with math, and it will only take a second if someone can do it for me. I've included pictures to show you the height I am looking for.

It's going to be about 13 1/4 inches. That's assuming I did the math right.

All this talk about inches, c'mon you guys, the size doesn't matter, the only thing that matters is if it does the job right.
