Hi all, please don't roll your eyes because I did something really dumb. I thought I would have a go and see if I could fix a visual problem I was having with RTMI (bad mistake). Anyway when I had the choice to choose between hardware and software I changed the pre selected setting. Now instead of super speedy monkey movements etc I am getting a blank screen. It tries to launch but can't so I am unable to undo what I have done. siggghhh. I promise I will never touch things I do not understand again!
Thanks if you can help me and yes, break it down to baby speak please.

Just delete your settings.ini file.
When you restart the game you will get a new one.

Thank you for helping. When I go to the files I can't see settings ini, I see config settings. Sorry, not sure.
Thanks, file deleted and now repaired!

For future reference, if you are asking for help with a specific game, please include the actual name of the game in the question. I have no clue what RTMI is, so I wouldn't have been able to help you, even if I knew the solution. Should I ever run into the same problem myself in the future, I also won't remember the solution given here, since I won't be able to mentally associate it with the game in question.

As an example, if you ask for tips on resource gathering in SC2, you are going to get vastly different responses depending on whether the person responding thinks you mean Star Control 2 or StarCraft 2 (or any of a number of other games which would also be abbreviated SC2).

Also, if the game is on GOG, you may get better results asking the question in the specific subforum for the game or the series.
RTMI.. Read The Mandatory Instructions?
WOW! For me google correctly identified RTMI. It's getting scary smart.

Thanks for the suggestion, I shall take it on board. I just thought that my issue was due to an action I performed and not with the performance of the game itself, an action that olnorton recognised pretty quickly and corrected straight away.
As far as asking in the particular game forum I did look there but saw that it was fairly non-active and considered my chance of help there just as remote.
I shall endeavour to do better next time, thanks for the input.

he heheh you're funny!
Sorry, the name didn't seem important 'cos the game "Return to Mysterious Island" was fine, it was just my ineptitude in question.
