Lodium: wow, you are pretty sick if you mean your frredom shoud alow the abuse of small children that cant defend themself just for the sake of freedom.
You are forgetting something wery important, your freedom stops where other peoples freedom begin.
you hit just a new low.
Offcourse the isp have buisness monitoring that type of traffic so that sick perverts doesnt get the pleasure of looking at child porn.
Because such activity intrudes on a childs freedom.
How much of an idiot are you to pull "think of teh childrenz" in such a discussion?

There are legal ways of combating child pornography. Blanket ISP monitoring is not one of them, and never should be.

Though I guess there's not much point trying to actually explain things to you if you can't even comprehend the rather simple content of my previous posts.

Apologies to all the rest of you for derailing. I thought Lodium was simply ignorant, but willing to learn. Clearly not so.

ussnorway: Storm in a tea cup guys

I find the game itself fun to play but the card picking system needs a basic redesign... Actual bugs are uncommon

ROCKMAN_77: I need more of this post, to know about the game itself and not pages of tears from the people robbed from their precious digital self....
Full discloser; I don't play witcher or care about the story but I agreed to play the beta because I like the cards ;)

I pick my cards for the art work and offen find I've purchased a card that my deck can't use because I don't understand what the icons depict or why some cards are smaller than others?

If you run the tutorial you will understand, the mechanic is quite simple, the cards have numbers and if by the end of a turn your cards sum up more than your oponent's you win!
That you have not played witcher games before is not problem, crucial cards have a golden border :)
The artwork and animations on the cards is awesome!

I did run the totorial and that told me how to use the cards in combat but does NOT tell you what other icons on the card are for
eg, some cards are boss cards that comand a new deck, some (most the nice ones) can only be placed in one deck like red, blue or whatever and this is unclear until you waist a week saving up for them and I still don't understand why some cards are smaller than others.... the game design assumes people know these rules but they are not in the totorials and there is no help files

I recommend you don't get the fansy animated cards because they are $ and mostly not worth it... you are much better to get the static verson which is cheaper, has the same (in game) and lets you test that the card is usful before blowing a week to get the ani-verson... wish I'd known that at the time but o well, shit happens ;)

You know, its pretty ironic
a few posts ago you yourself pulled the : constituent rights card
so why is my way of doing it any worse than yours?

The argument here is not about combating child porn
otherwise i woudnt have said that the isp will forward those kind of issues to the police but i guess you missed my point once again.
Its about alowing it to take place in the first place.
Freedom does not mean one is free to do as one please.
That is why we have laws and regulations the moment your fredom is intruding on others people freedom
Il give you a tip.
Before you engage in a debate learn to actually back up your arguments.
You cant even answer a simple question
on how a isp going to measure how much bandwith you have used if the isp cant track you.

My argument has been that there are great ways of using datamining and there are bad ways of doing datamining
you have denied this from the very beginning and your defence for such a claim have been the freedom card.
I have not said its ok to sell the informatiomn to a third party, after all i did say facebok was a bad way of doing it.
But it seams your claim is that people cant protect their property, interest or whatever in the name of freedom.
well, now how the fuck is a store owner going to watch over his store with such a dubious argument then?
He cant because some idiot claims it is the police,s job and the store owner shoud just wait for the police to show up by magic.
It doesnt work that way.
The store owner will off course monitor the store and report any person that does anything ilegal in his store to the police, this has always been the case.
If he doesnt, well then he doesnt protect his property, interest or whatever and in some cases he can even go in jail
for being a passive bystander.

What applies to me must of necessity also apply to you. It is at the core of our understanding of the term ‘criminal’ – someone who by their actions has, by deception or other means, wrongfully deprived me of something which belonged to me , which is rightfully mine or for which I had had a duty of care to protect (this, of course also includes the ‘worst’ crime of all, murder - depriving another of their life). It is at the core of the word ‘cruelty’ – wilfully causing pain and suffering to another being.

I cannot think of anything else because ‘justice’, ‘criminal’ and ‘cruelty’ covers just about everything. The Laws we enact are supposed to help the practitioners of the Law to draw the line at the point where my ‘freedom’ (to do what I like) stops and your ‘freedom’ (to do what you like) begins.
This also includes internet.
