Rockstar releasing a good pc version? Performance was fine but it still had a LOT of issues.
I guess we'll see once it releases.
Man, that 4K resolution is looking reeeeal nice. Too bad I don't have the money atm to slap a 970 in my rig yet, otherwise, I'd be doing it. Either way, I'll be satisfied with 1080p.
Soooo, DRM, how many layers? Cause I've read these lines on the announcement

Other requirements: Installation and online play requires log-in to Rockstar Games Social Club (13+) network; internet connection required for activation, online play, and periodic entitlement verification; software installations required including Rockstar Games Social Club platform, DirectX, Chromium, and Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 sp1 Redistributable Package, and authentication software that recognizes certain hardware attributes for entitlement, digital rights management, system, and other support purposes. Single use serial code registration via internet required; registration is limited to one Rockstar Games Social Club Account (13+) per serial code; only one log-in allowed per Social Club account at any time; serial code(s) are non-transferable once used; Social Club accounts are non-transferrable.
and in addition to R* Social, I can think of Steam for serial code registration, but the 'periodic entitlement verification' sounds like an extra phone-home system...

I'm sure there'll be some way to obtain a DRM-free copy ...

Periodic entitlement verification' could be Denuvo DRM, as supposed sometime ago.
I am not buying anything with "periodic entitlement verification".

Edit:

", and authentication software that recognizes certain hardware attributes"

This game has hardware based DRM, another reason not to buy it. I won't buy a game that won't let make infinite upgrades to my PCs and allow to install it on all my PCs without asking permission and allow to replace my PCs without asking for permission.

One of my wanted games in 2015 but I'm not pre-ordering or instant purchase while it's up for sale, might to wait a legit reviews since all next-gen games has terrible port.

Well the hardware part is actually how most, if not all, games DRM works including Steamwork's. Making significant changes to your hardware will require you to reactivate/authenticate your game (or will disable the offline mode and forces you to go online in Steam case).

The "periodic verification" is more annoying and problematic though.

EDIT: Not to mention the "the requires login to Rockstar Games Social Club" part of course :(

IIRC Denuvo is more a "anti-tampering" mechanism, added on top others DRMs. As in : it's there to prevent you from being able to crack the real DRMs, so normally it's not supposed to phone home by itself.

Just what I thought, more time for them to think of ways to shove more DRM through our throats.

I'm going to give this one a pass just as I did with their previous installment.
Checking Your entitlement, please wait...

I'm afraid I won't be touching it.
Hardly surprised at the requirements, these days every big-budget PC game has DRM up the wazoo.

It was not. Insanely long loading times for tiny levels (which were "masked" by unskippable cutscenes :P), and that despite only *okay* graphics. Plus I ran into different technical issues, most notably invisible walls in multiplayer (I could actually see other players through many of them). It was a bad port, very bad! *newspaper slap*
